Welcome to week 2 of January where we are celebrating different ways to do appliqué !  Last week we talked all about the Apliquick tools and how useful I find them for turned edge techniques.

This week we switch lanes and talk about a wide category of appliqué known as Broderie Perse (say – Broydery Purse).. also known as Persian Appliqué or even Chintz Appliqué.  And while sometimes this technique is done as a turned edge more often this is a raw-edged technique making it fast but finished and a fantastic way to use large scale fabrics!

There are quite a few quilt artisans that are using these techniques today but I don’t think many are doing it more boldly than Laura Heine … Here quilt designs make the most of  fabric prints, colors and themes and if you would like to learn more about her technique see the video below.

She has written a swell little book that this month’s  BAQS sponsor Fiberology Lab  as a happy coincidence has in stock and has been so kind as to offer a discount code just for BAQS fans!

To grab a copy (there are only 5-6  left!)  of the book to get you going check out this link to Fiberology Lab and use the code  BAQS10 for 10% off your order!

Want more?….  Just about every Monday I go live on the BAQS Page at 10 am eastern to share everything new with our world of Healthy Happy Creatives so make sure to give that a peak.. it will be pinned to the top of the BAQS facebook page all week!

Pssssst… Did you read down this far?.. if you did I want to let you know that starting Wednesday the 13th I will be doing a private 3 day community opening over at Maddiekertay.com.  Life is vexing right now and many of us have goals that we want to meet, progressive community that we need and more. I will be honest that I just don’t have it in me to do a huge BAQS launch right now because {waves hands in the air to indicate.. everything} but I have a few more invitations left for those who want to be part of the BadAss Private membership community and possibly the Quilters Accountability group. I only open 4 times a year and am doing this since I will be launching the new Happy Healthy Creative Camp for my Keto and Fasting people and will give them a chance to do a packaged deal at that time.  Interested?
