Like many quilters I also have a lot of other hobbies… in fact you could say that I am sort of a crazed crafter! So when I saw this new collection from INK & ARROW Fabrics I KNEW i was going to love showing it to you and getting to play with a bit of it myself!
For me knitting is a nice portable break from quilting at my longarm and since I travel with my knitting I need project bags. And of course making project bags means more chances to buy fabric.. you can see how this is a wonderfully symbiotic relationship!
Honestly you don’t even have to start from scratch. Sometimes the most satisfying project start with a purchased base and then expand from there.
The small grey bag ( above) , was from the dollar section at my local craft store!… and since I can never leave well enough along I even dropped in a lining out of this happy-happy fabric! It is just the right size for Sock Knitting!
I really like to use fabric in ways that make the best use of the pattern.. so you can see that on the zipper of my me-made pouch (below) this stripe was PERFECT on either side of the zipper and would make perfect binding should you desire to use in on a quilt!
The best trick to making any yarn project bag is inserting grommets to use for threading the yarn out so the bag does not have to be open all the time. This is especially important for those of us who have curious pets who love nothing better than to rummage in our bags and chew on yarn ( dangerous!)
I had the hardest time deciding which fabrics to use for this bag! This collection is WOOL EWE by Ink and Arrow and is arrive in shops RIGHT NOW!
As you can see I did two grommets on my WOOL EWE bags since I am getting ready to do a two color knitting project and want access to two colors of yarn at the same time. I have tried running two from the same hole but find that they tend to tangle. Doing a 4 color project.. add four grommets… it is easy!
Check out my video below.
As usual I made my me-made bag in a rather organic, seat-of-my-pants fashion but if you would like to make a yarn bag and then add a grommet these are a few of my favorite patterns out on the web for your enjoyment.
The wonderful people at Ink and Arrow have given me not one but TWO amazing FQ stacks of WOOL EWE to give away to BAQS readers. Just answer the question in the comments and you will be in the running to win! We will announce the winners on Friday Sept. the 1st on the BAQS FB Page. (Hint mark you calendar now to check to see if you won. Our last 2 winners lost out on their prizes by not checking in to win!)
Are you multi-craftial? Which crafts are your currently enjoying and is there carry over from one to another at times?

I am multicraftal, and currently traveling with a hat on my needles, and yarn, pattern, and needles for a shawl. In my bag is a hexie project, and a wool appliqué. I need project bags for many projects, and I love this collection!
In addition to quilting and sewing fun bags I love to hand embroidery fun hoop art.
I’m a slef taught knitter, seamstress, and quilter. My ma taught me how to cross-stitch and crochet.
I definitely am multi craftial…I crochet, sew, cross stitch!! Right now, I’m into sewing…this is a great giveaway ☺ Thanks for the chance!!!!
I love project bags! As far as crafting goes, I’d like to do more than I actually accomplish. Damned autoimmune diseases…
I enjoy longarm quilting, hand piecing, hand embroidery, landscape and garden design, and I excell at daydreaming.
I love learning new crafts! I mostly quilt & sew but I also knit & crochet a little. Right now I also have wood burning and metal stamping tools that I want to try.
I quilt, draw, do photography, & crochet.
So yep, I am multi-crafty!
Thanks for the chance to win this beautiful fabric!
Sewing garments, quilting, beading, knitting scarves, embroidery *machine*. I have projects everywhere, I’m always getting torn away or distracted by the next shiny, glittery project!
Bags! I love bags.
Knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting, bag making, and lots of other crafts. I love mixing, marching and blending several into one project at times.
I design handbags and the patterns to make them. I quilt. I sew apparel and toys. I love making costumes. I make specialty notions for handbag making. I paint, mostly florals on glass and metal. I knit a bit. I crochet a bit. So, basically I make things.
I knit & sew! If I’m doing one of them, I don’t do anything else until I have that project completed…thanks for this great giveaway 😊😊
I have quilted for about 20 years and did cross stitch before that and now adding knitting. Working on my first scarf and already thinking off all the accessories I need for this new project 🙂
Of course I am multi-craftial! Most of my crafting involves fabric, but I also love yarn. I am a seasoned maker of amigurimi and other crocheted items, and a newbie knitter. I’ve also dabbled in beads and painting. Basically I love making pretty things!
This is adorable! Thanks to ink and arrow for the giveaway!
Yes, I quilt, cross stitch and knit. I’ve also dabbled in tatting and crochet. Always have multiple projects going at various stages so I can switch between them and always having something portable size for travel. I have a serious project bag addiction and your posts are not helping that! 🙂
Yes multi-craftial. Quilting and sewing but dabble in knitting and sime needlework
I like to do a lot of little things. I really enjoy making totes and zipper bags. Before I started sewing/quilting a couple of years ago, I was crocheting. But, I’m not great at it and sort of dropped it when I started quilting. I do miss having a project I can take in the car and I’m trying to get back into crocheting. I love the idea of adding the grommets to feed the yarn, I’m definitely going to try that.
i do numerous kinds of handwork, EPP and embroidery mostly, though last night i started working on a 1970s needlework kit, and I’m loving the tacky goodness of it!
i can never have enough zippered pouches for all of my hand projects, I’ve started making them as souvenirs too, using fabric that i buy on specific trips to make a bag to remind me of the trip. i like making flat square quilted bags that will fit a hoop.
You bet, I’m into a bunch of different things! I started quilting when I was 13, followed soon after by embroidery and crochet. Didn’t begin knitting til a few years ago though. Collage and mixed-media work is also something I enjoy. And I pretty much kept all these things separate until I ran into Mandy Pattullo’s work. I love how she collages patches of fabric onto pieces of worn old quilts, and then adds embroidery. A few months ago I took a class with the darling Wendy Brightbill, who embroiders her painted and collared canvaes! I was bowled over, and this is now one of my fave ways to play.
*painted and collaged
Project bags are the only way I can keep my stuff together!
I have project bags for Embroidery/Sewing; Crochet, Bridal hats (that’s actually a box since it’s sew-glue-embroider); loom knitting hats; & quilt squares.
I have been loving I&A prints; just found the Camper suite about 40 miles away!
I am multi-Craftial. Currently, hand stitching a Cathedral Windows spread, crocheting some scarves for a friend, & practicing my FMQ. I would love some of this new line from Ink & Arrow. I want some of ALL their lines!
Yes i have toooo many projects on the go. Mittens. Socks. Card making. Cross stitching. Quilt blocks. Embroidery. Sewing clothing. Upholstry for my daughter. Right now gardening
Love the prints can see that in different forms already
I love my quilting, but knitting crochet, embroidery, painting and sewing are fun too! I get a yen for doing knitting in the fall, painting in the spring with all the beauty, sewing for summer cosplay and mix it up whenever!
I quilt, sew, weave, dye, lamp work, make jewelry, and have tried just about everything else at least once. Always self taught because my motto is- “I have power tools, I can do anything. How hard can be?” That gets me in trouble sometimes lol.
The two things I’ve never been able to teach myself are knitting and crocheting. I’ve tried multiple times with no success. But I do have a lovely collection of beautiful yarn. It’s usually some scrumptious yarn that talks me into trying to learn, just one more time.
Finally a name for me! I am soooo multi-craftial! I am a sketcher who draws my designs to embroider and quilt. Im looking forward to getting back to crocheting in the Fall. I’m even ready to take knitting lessons. As a procrastinator by nature, I’m at my best planning and shopping for my future projects.
Currently I quilt, sew, knit and crochet. I have multiple projects going in each of these categories so I’m sometimes overwhelmed by it all BUT taking any of it away will surely bring on the crazies! Hobbies on hold right now are stained glass, metal smithing and beadwork. I really love it all. Want to try spinning and weaving.
I mostly quilt. I have a couple crochet projects in moth balls. Some day, I will pull them out and finish them up. I’ve just started dyeing fabric. That’s a craft in itself!
I used to do counted cross stitch as well as quilting but have stopped. I may some day pick it back up, or start back with embroidery. I have seen some wonderful embroidery projects lately that have been screaming for me to do!
Totally in love with these bags!
I always have lots of crafts going. Quilting, sewing baby stuff, making Christmas beaded stuff. I want to smock some ornaments but it’s been awhile. I love cross stitch and needlepoint.
Right now I am crocheting a scarf, working on two quilts, learning how to needle felt and trying to find time to learn how to spinwool, since I was gifted a spinning wheel. I am fearless when it comes to crafts. I love to use my antique treadle sewing machines.
I am a knitter, quilter, sewist, longarmer, embroiderer, and cross stitcher. Never met a fiber craft I didn’t like!
Yes! I am multi-craftial (great new word). It is in the fabric art realm with quilting, sewing, refashioning garments from time to time.

I consider myself “multi-craftial” and always have several projects going at once. It’s nice to have something portable that doesn’t require a machine. I do cross-stitch and embroidery which ‘cross-over’ to quilt appliqué and decorative stitches on my quilts, and this winter reintroduced myself to knitting as I cranked out 5-6 “pussy hats.” My primary focus, however is piecing Quilts and learning how to finish them up on my new longarm!
This fabric is too adorable! As I explained at a quilt show once, where there were lots of yarns available, I am a bi-crafter, knitting and quilting! One always inspires me for the other
Right now it’s quilting, garment sewing, embroidery /x-stitch and painting. Not enough hours in the day!
I have a longarm with a computer and have been known to stand with a drop spindle and spin while I watch it.(I also knit,do wool rug hooking and have weaving as my next thing I want to learn!
I go from sewing to quilting, and then either knitting or crochet at night. Always take my knitting when I travel!
I love the video Maddie, it was great to see the grommet tutorial and the fabric was perfect!
Yes, starting to get into crocheting again, getting a couple of patterns from my Mom that she used to make for kids. I also LOVE EPP, Hand Embroidery along with my quilting.
As an art teacher I am multi crafty! Quilting and sewing are my favs but I like felting, hand embroidery, all sorts of stuff!
Definitely MULTI craftial…..often times the various projects change seasonally, but I always have quilting and knitting on hand, along with origami, buttonware, etc. etc..
I’ve settled on sewing (quilting included) and knitting after a lifetime of trying lots of crafts from basket making to jewelry making, dolls and crewel embroidery. Sewingis my first love.
I am so multi-craftual that I call myself a thread/textile artist because I can’t nail one down. I knit (several projects at a time), crochet, sew, jewelry, macramé, etc. My doctor actually ask me what I am working on at every visit. She knows there are several projects in my bag. My carry overs are often knitting and then sewing on embellishments or crocheting decorative embellishments on a sewn item. I like using several different forms of craft on the same design.
I mostly quilt, but I do some knitting and I love to cook.
Knitting, embroidery, hooking rugs, felting, but Quilting is my passion!
Lisa Novich
I do lots of things that are crafty. Quilting, other sewing, painting, a little knitting and some crochet. There are truly not enough hours in the day.
Hmmm, embroidery, sewing, knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning … yea, I’ve done a lot of things. They all inform each other. But I love quilting the best and it is the one in which I can use a lot of my other skills.
Ha! I am multi-crafter for sure! Right now I am all about sewing Alabama Chanin clothes, but next week I might be knitting 🙂 Those are such cute fabrics!
Yes! Pottery, needlepoint and sewing which I use in about everything except my pottery
I love project bags! Recently started using them for my hand embroidery projects. So much easier to carry with me than a plastic box.
