There are a lot of ways you can save money on your quilting, you can sew from your stash more, you can find quilt shop quality fabric on sale at your local shop or you can even rip up your old clothes and make something new.
But the one thing you should not scrimp on is your cutting tools. Good scissors are a MUST in a well stocked sewing room. Old and dull scissors chew up the edge of fabric and distort your cut and frankly they make you feel cheap.
When you work with cheap items you lessen the experience. A good chef will tell you that a good knife can make cooking a pleasure so chef’s buy the very best they can and then they protect them – fiercely!

I’m a virgin as far as scissors go. Having a set would be ideal. And you can never have too much light for all the hand work.

Are you kidding me! A quality set of scissors and lighting! I’ve been sewing with leftovers and cheap scissors for 30 years.
For the past year I’ve been having a hard time focusing and seeing my sewing area. Found out this week I have cataracts in both eyes. These items will be an awesome gift to anyone who sews, quilts ror embroiders!

I currently use a small scissor that my mother in law gave me years ago and while they have sentimental value they have been sharpened down to nearly nothing. I could really use new scissors in my quilting and especially like the snips as I have arthritis in my hands. I sew in a little dungeon and new lights would be aaaaaaamazing! Thanks!
I have some sad old scissors that do try to chew up my fabric when I use them by mistake – I keep them for paper projects, but they migrate in with my sewing supplies. I have a couple of pairs of Ginghers that I keep away from paper projects, but these Famore scissors sound like the cat’s meow. I would love to be able to try them. Famore for embroidery and needle turn applique! scissors are the most nessary helpful of my sewing room supplies, these would be well cherished!
what a wonderful give away! I have discovered that really sharp cutting tools make it so much easier on my joints. When my pain level is down in about to spend more time creating. I hope who ever wins these lovelies really appreciates the quality!
I just love this beautiful set! They remind me of my mom’s scissors that lived in the drawer of her sewing cabinet. You know the ones no one else was ever allowed to touch, let alone use! Sadly they were lost to time and grabby relatives. With my own set I would finally attempt to get back to handwork and learn to hand applique. I would lovingly place them in my sewing cabinet and never allow anyone else to use them. Ever!

OMG if the scissors are not enough the light is amazing!!! I had the opportunity to see both this past weekend and Like Matty says they are sweet!! Matty which Museum were you sitting in front of? Getting these scissors and light would mean that my husband can keep my old ones for his train setup. My scissors, tweezers, and other products keep migrating into his train set up.

OMG these are amazing! I have needle turn applique on the go, stump embroidery to try, quilt tops to quilt and these would quickly become indispensable! Famore are amazingly generous as are you. Love!!!

Oh my, these scissors would help me with the art quilts I am making right now. I am hand cutting lots of teeny (and some not so teeny) pieces to build the design. And the tweezers would be amazing for placing the pieces rather than using a pin to wiggle them around-and saying naughty words that make someone say…are you okay over there.
I just might do more embroidery machine work if I had the offset handle shears to trim with more easily….yes, Yes! I want it all and I would use it all. Yaay Famore!!!
I am a quilter, and who couldn’t use more scissors. But I recently started doing cross stitch, and these would be awesome to have.

Brint cut the locking mechanism off several pairs of forceps for me. MUCH easier to use. I have pairs all over the house.
I have the Famore snips and use them all the time. I would love to try the other scissors for appliqué, embroidery, and quilting. My husband is a woodworker and he always says having the right tool is essential. Would love to win this.

These scissors would make the far more delicate work I’m intimidated by, but want to try much more approachable. I’m starting to teach my 4.5 year old some of the sewing craft and she already knows that fabric scissors are for fabric only. She reminds me any time she sees me with a pair of scissors to be sure I’m using the correct ones. So you could be sure this set would be treasured and well taken care of in our house.
Oh, and that light would be great for her little pink and purple Janome that came without any sort of light.
