THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!…. keep your eyes alert for the winner announcement on the BAQS FB Page!
There are a lot of ways you can save money on your quilting, you can sew from your stash more, you can find quilt shop quality fabric on sale at your local shop or you can even rip up your old clothes and make something new.
But the one thing you should not scrimp on is your cutting tools. Good scissors are a MUST in a well stocked sewing room. Old and dull scissors chew up the edge of fabric and distort your cut and frankly they make you feel cheap.
When you work with cheap items you lessen the experience. A good chef will tell you that a good knife can make cooking a pleasure so chef’s buy the very best they can and then they protect them – fiercely!
The holidays are coming and if you are looking to up your game in the way of scissors I strongly suggest looking at the Famore brand. What a great give away! I love the scissors, and the case is fun too. I’d use them when I cross stitch and embroider. I’m always looking for SHARP scissors.
Maddie, if you say that the duck-billed applique scissors will change my life I believe you! I’ve been creating with cheap-o scissors for a long time now and have never owned specialized ones.
They’d help speed me up when chain-piecing log cabins onto strips, because I cut the strips apart before pressing. Usually I just grab whichever scissors are closest, and sometimes that isn’t the best choice for the poor fabric.
And the light?! OMG. THE LIGHT WOULD ROCK MY WORLD.
Looks like an awesome prize
These would be perfect to replace the set that disappeared when my brat daughter was feeling especially vengeful a couple of years ago. I really miss that set!
Those are beautiful and I would love to have them. I want to win them, but if I don’t I think that the kit will be at the top of my Christmas list. I love surrounding myself with objects that make work and hobbies a pleasure. BTW my chef knives are off limits and my most fave, crafted in Spain knife, is well-hidden.
My sewing room may be brand spanking new but my poor old scissors have seen better days. I work my scissors pretty hard cutting out fabric from patterns and a new set of fancy, sharp scissors would sure make the tedium less painful! Thank you Badass Quilters Society and Famore!
I love the appliqué kit. What a great variety of scissors and tweezers (forceps). I’m an operating room nurse and it is amazing how similar a lot of the items we use in quilting. I am a lover of hand appliqué and reverse appliqué. I can’t even list all of the ways these items could help me in my hand work. Love that you take the time when you have it available to keep us informed. Tell those truckers to tone it down. Thanks for the opportunity.
I am drooling…
My old ginghers need replacing. I woukd love to try something new
If I had the new scissors I would have a new use for my Tile and they will never be lost.
Well, fabric without scissors would never become anything!!! My scissors are disintegrating (the handles, not the blade) so new scissors would enhance EVERY cutting experience and quit leaving a trail!!! Oh, how I love the giveaways 🙂 and the Givers :):)
Wow! How I would love to snip with something less than 20 years old. They work…but just. Thanks for the opportunity.
I’ve seen these scissors (and great looking guys!) at some quilt shows. They are both fabulous – I’d love to have more precision scissors!
What a marvelous set! I have just begun embroidery and applique and have no good scissors to go with them. Just my large Gingher shears. I would use the hell out of those!
who doesn’t always need more and sharper scissors!!! any quilter out there!!!
I Love, Love, Love Famore scissors. I have got a pair of their small pointy scissors, however I did not know about the embroidery scissors. If I win the set first off I’m going to just look at them and drool. Then out will come a sewing project so I can try every pair. Currently I mostly use my grandma older scissors which are ok but to receive a beautiful set like this would be awesome.
Love the box will keep them handy. I am staring a Rose of Sharon quilt would be able to carry my scissors without worrying they would get messed up.
I just got my Famore seam ripper last week after breaking my second plastic one… It is beautiful! I didn’t want to put it down! I don’t actually want to have to rip anything, but I know if I do… It will be with a wonderful tool!
I have never invested in quality scissors, but after seeing the difference in my new seam ripper… I just might have to jump on the pretty scissor bandwagon!
I have the Famore snips and they are the ONLY ones I will use for machine applique. They are my favorites by far. I would love to try the other ones!
I love scissors, I do quilting, beading, embroidery, applique I am just now getting to know and having a great pair of scissors make this all possible to do it efficiently and with less hassle. I really love the case as well and the BadAss quality is great as well. Good luck and I will check out the other page as well.
What an awesome set of scissors! I have been expanding my repertoire so to speak and have just recently started focusing on applique a bit. So much to learn!
Omgeee! I really NEED these to complete my scissor collection. I have two good pair but none of these. Please pick me!
I have those spring-loaded snips on the far left and they are fabulous. Similar to what surgeons use apparently. Great for reverse sewing, snipping every 3-4 threads, voice of experience!
I would love to own these scissors. I might even share them.
Someone told me that I can sharpen my scissors by cutting through tinfoil. I’m not sure I’m seeing a difference my old ones. I didn’t even know that appliqué scissors existed. I love doing hand appliqué. My mother-in-law loves Blue Willow dinnerware, and cats. I want to sew a quilt for her. I want the background to be a pale yellow with dancing appliqué kittens made out of the fabric that looks like Blue Willow.
These are really nice! I would love to win them! It would make my sad collection of scissors much nicer and I have many projects to use them with!!
Oh my – these are wonderful! I seriously lack in my own scissor collection. It certainly would help to make my sewing experience easier and nicer!!! I have many projects waiting to be made with them!!
High-quality scissors like these would make me feel like a pro–even if I use a seam ripper more than scissors.
I would love to win these amazing scissors. Great scissors make a huge difference. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
There is nothing better than a good pair of scissors-except for a box full of them! These look gorgeous.
Amore Famore!!!!!
I’ve gotten into doing some hexie and applique projects and I would LOVE to have this set to use on these. Never seen the duck-billed pair of scissors and it would be fun to see what they can do.
I would most definitely be the envy of all my friends! Your video made my heart go pitter-patter! Thanks for the giveaway!
These would make me the star of my Baltimore Album class!
No more cutting through good parts when trimming applique if I had the fancy scissors.
New scissors would help me, as Maddie so aptly put it “stay sharp” and the wonderful case would definitely keep me organized! Thanks for the giveaway Famore!
I’m still using the orange handled scissors I bought for 8th grade Home Ec! I would be able to cut fabric the first snip rather than sawing thru it with these fabulous scissors. I could cut your hair! Or my hair! But only if we drink heavily first. I’m not a stylist, LOL.
Oh em gee! I’m still using the fiskars I bought when I started sewing and I’ve become so used to coaxing them past the dull spot I don’t know how I’d cope with sharp scissors!!
This bad ass scissor set would make me clip my projects like someone “who knows what their doing” kinda attitude. What a stylish way to snip and clip.
My heavens! Not only would these up my game, but might change my game all together! No more jagged edges, no more having to swearing in blue streaks, no more tugging and tearing while trying to cut fabric. Plus, my dentist would be so happy I don’t have to use my teeth anymore to cut and trim!
I love me a good pair of scissors! This set would be a great addition to my quilting arsenal.
Favored makes the best scissors. Would love to use these when doing ITH embroidery!
Clean, sharp, accurate, edges. What a wonderful way to achieve a better end project. With any hand project, quilting to embroidery, and so many others!
They would be so much nicer than the bent ones I’ve been limping along with!!!
I would L❤️VE to give the set of scissors to my mama – she does the most beautiful appliqué and gives us Baltimore blocks every year for Christmas!! It’s a fabulous gift idea for the lady who has everything!!
Not only would these help my sewing quality, but they would be equally useful for my needlepoint! Please pick my name!
Would love to win this awesome set of badass scissors!
When the moon hits you eye like a big-a pizza pie
That’s Famore
When the world seems to shine like you’ve had too much wine
That’s Famore
Love me some Dean Martin & some scissors!
I have the snips from Famore and would love to be the proud owner of this kit! I do a lot of hand sewing and would find these scissors a huge asset to my achy fingers!!
Omg. Have tried their shears and like them more than ginger. Would love this set for my appliqué and EPP!,
