There are a lot of ways you can save money on your quilting, you can sew from your stash more, you can find quilt shop quality fabric on sale at your local shop or you can even rip up your old clothes and make something new.
But the one thing you should not scrimp on is your cutting tools. Good scissors are a MUST in a well stocked sewing room. Old and dull scissors chew up the edge of fabric and distort your cut and frankly they make you feel cheap.
When you work with cheap items you lessen the experience. A good chef will tell you that a good knife can make cooking a pleasure so chef’s buy the very best they can and then they protect them – fiercely!

New scissors would be extremely helpful when snipping tight corners in trapunto. A gal can never have enough scissors.
Good quality scissors make a big difference. I have friends that are dog groomers and we talk about scissor quality even though they use a different types of scissors. The weight and “feel” of scissors make a big difference. Also do not drop the scissors on the floor that ruins the scissors. Thank you..

I am a Bad Ass Quilter!!! ?. I love your blog! I love all things quilt related, and have designed appliqué patterns for a few quilts. These were all gifts for friends and loved ones! I am currently working on a Quilt of Valor that includes appliqué. This scissor kit would be loved and cherished at my house!!! They would be well used! The box with the BAQS sticker would be amazing to own!
Would love to have some good scissors to use when I’m teaching my quilt guild projects. Also as just started machine embroidery and the curved handle and tiny snips would be so helpful.

Love this kit of scissors. I’ve been doing a BOM with applique and these would have been sew handy to have. Another applique BOM is starting in Oct. and these would be perfect for it. They must have the BAQS sticker on the box, though. That is a necessity.

I am just starting teaching my 6-year-old granddaughter to sew and quilt and want to instill in her the necessity of having quality materials and tools to work with. She has already been picking out fabrics for her own stash from the quilt shoepws we have attended!

I have those little squeeze cutters and they are THE BEST! Brint sharpened mine at AQS syracuse and gave them a bit of a tweek I can’t be without them!
I love scissors that actually cut all the time. These do the job. I fell in love with them,when I first saw them in Houston. I thought ok I’ll try them. What are very happy surprise.

Nothing makes my sewing frustrating than picking up a pair of scissors that won’t cut or even trim properly. I would love to have this beautiful prize of scissors. I am doing more appliqué and have never use appliqué scissors. I hear quilters talk about how nice they work.

Since May I have started to embrace the whole slow organic process of applique and I am totally hooked. Ok…I’m a beginner so I don’t have any….any….of those fancy scissors. Still using my big clunkers so I’m super excited about the very tiny points to get closer and snip cleanly and of course the duck-billed so I don’t have to do any more repairs and patches when I cut where I don’t want to cut!:)
Don’t do FB so I guess I need to just remember to check Sunday night.:)

WOW!!! What an awesome scissors and tweezer set from Famore! I just LOVE you and your videos and posts – they (and you) are so real and I love that! Anyhow, what would I do with this Bad-Ass set of scissors you ask?? I would have so much fun creating beautiful appliqués for my quilts, because I obviously tend to migrate toward appliqué more than I thought I would when I started quilting again. These scissors would make my appliqué work so much easier and more smooth resulting in a better end product! I can definitely see myself using the sharp tweezers to remove any stabilizer in a project! It would awesome to have this set!! I look forward to doing some Bad-Ass creating with these Famore scissors and tweezers!!
Oooo I love Famore scissors. I got a pair in a class I took at Houston and they are lovely! Good scissors are so very important, and I would love to have another pair. Sharp scissors reduce the risk of cutting something you don’t want to, or even cutting yourself accidentally.
I have never owned a “good” pair of scissors. I would love to step up my game by any means necessary! Those look amazing and sharp!
A new pair of applique scissors would be wonderful. I used a small pair of thread scissors and cut a hole in my fabric last time I did applique.
I have been using these scissors for a couple of years now and love them. I was taught by a very wise woman (my mom) by the best you can afford it will make your life easier. Well i dont have most of the scissors in that kit and they would make my life easier in some of the projects I do. Plus it is a nice travel kit for scissors. After all who doesn’t need more scissors.

Oohh appliqué sissors!! As a new quilter I sure could use these to go from blocks and strips to more intricate designs. Then that list of quilts I want to make would be much more diverse. After all there is only so much you can do with squares and rectangles!
Being a lefty I have always struggled with scissors so I learned early have the best ones always at hand.
I feel like I take more care with my work when I use quality tools than when I use what ever is laying around. That leads too a better product in the end.
Awesome collection – and love that it is in a box (make finding them easier!!!) I cut fabric for a living, and good scissors are hard to come by at the cutting counter. At home, I insist on the best cutting tools I can afford. And Famore tools have a stellar reputation. I would adore this set.
Oh yeah! Those scissors are awesome! The spring loaded snips look awesome and the curved scissors look like they would work great for clipping threads after quilting.
