What fun we have had!… Two days and two videos on how to use rulers with your longarm and domestic sewing machines!
We started out on Friday with a mini-class (usually reserved for Speakeasy members only*) on using the Little Flipper as well as some tips on thread matching, and working with vintage fabrics. If you missed it over on Facebook I have added it below for your enjoyment!
Don’t have a longarm?… no worries you are not out in the cold when it comes to using rulers with your quilting! After the success of the video on Friday we got back online on Saturday and set up at the domestic machine! Â Lots of tips and tricks there as well ; once again showing off the best little quilting ruler from my friend Kim Brunner.
So what do you think? Are you ready to try ruler work on your machines? Â How about we make it easy and I do a sweet giveaway for a Little Flipper all of your very own? Â We will pick a winner on Friday the 24th!
Leave a comment and let me know if you are using rulers yet….  and remember you MUST have a special ruler foot so while you are waiting to see if you won, pop over to  your machine shop and get the correct ruler foot for your brand of machine!
We have a winner – BRENDA HOWARD! Â Brenda, please contact me in the next 48 hours to claim your prize!

I use my BSR on my Bernina so I presume that means I can’t use a ruler too.
Correct, now I do suspect that they will make some sort of retro adapter for the BSR, since those suckers are WAY too expensive to buy another!
Hi. Watching from rural Alberta, Canada, near Edmonton. Loving this ruler. Just new to quilting and this is interesting.
I am not using rulers at this time, but I will start soon as I just got the ruler foot.
Just getting started with this technique. Love learning something new
Can’t wait to try it.
Not using them yet but these videos make me want to try! Thanks for demystifying them!!
I don’t use rulers much, need to practice more.
Thanks for adding info to both Facebook and the website. Sometimes I’m ditsy enough to miss both, but I can usually catch one or the other. I showed from some BAQ swag at a retreat last weekend and it was quite a hit. At least one order was placed immediately. We’re going to be whipping out our flasks (not so slyly) soon.
Haven’t tried it yet…..saw a demo at the AQS show in Daytona Beach….very interesting. Something else to try
Love ruler work, learn more every week.
You made it look easy. Can’t wait to try!
I haven’t used them on my Bernina, but I use them all the time on my sit-down Handi Quilter Sweet 16. I can’t get over how much better my quilting has become with them. Thanks for the giveaway.
I haven’t used rulers yet but can’t wait to try
I love the Little Flipper and am going to order one! I am a new quilter and soaking in all the info I can. Really liked the idea about using the spray baste to keep rulers in place.
I’ll be getting one of theses rulers soon!
Can’t wait to take a class next week on quilting with rulers on my home machine. Your videos were BadAss, as usual!! You are the bomb, Maddie!
Have had my Bernina ruler foot since January but haven’t used it yet. Now that I have watched your video I think I will be able to do this!
Looks like I need a new foot and a lot of practice!
Have upsized my machine (B770) . . . have acquired the appropriate foot . . . am building up my stock of ruler templates, along with courage to begin playing with machine quilting!
As a certified (or is that certifiable?) ruler junkie, I may have to add these to my list!
Great video!!! I ran upstairs to get my foot…lol…still in its original packaging and got to work!!! Thank you so much. Now to get a ruler as the ruler I have is a little on the big size. To my surprise it made making free form feathers easier as I could use the foot edge to control the size!!💖💖💕💕 and hugs to you.
Not yet, but in desperately want to!
Haven’t done it yet, but ready to try!
I am going to do a practice block or two in the morning. I really like the small ruler
I have been dying to try rulers… I have been on the fence about which machine to use, so I don’t have the foot ‘yet’… but will soon.
Just learning ruler work and the little flipper looks very handy and easy to maneuver around the foot of a machine.
I have just stayed playing with rulers. I’m going to have to try the 505 spray on the back. What a great trick!
I just started using rulers on my domestic machine and I love them.
Loved learning about those rulers!!! Sounds like a great way to get rid of my quilting UFOs!!!
I have purchased some rulers for my long arm but have been a little afraid to try them.
I am just learning machine quilting and just got an extension table for my machine. Would love to try out the mini flipper!
No special rulers or foot to go with them….but would love to try it! You make it look so easy! 🙂
I’m just learning about quilting with rulers and want to give it a try. Thanks for the great instructional video!
Ruler work is on my something “to dabble in” list… when I finish a few more projects in the work. The little flipper is definitely something that will be on the have must have list.
Love giveaways! The little flipper is awesome. Great for getting into tight corners!
I’m not using a ruler…but this one would be totally awesome!!! Thanks for the chance 😊
I use a number of rulers on my LA. But the size and control of Kimmy’s ruler really intrigues me. Thanks for giveaway!
I have the ruler and melon, and circle templates from Kimmie, love the ruler, still learning to master the melons and circles. Her videos are inspiring, yours too of course 😀
Your videos are awesome.
I started using rulers about a month ago. I love the perfectly straight lines. Perfect feathers! The little flipper would be very handy!
