Not to scare you or anything but there are less than 66 days until Christmas.
Did I hear a collective gasp?.. a moan of terror? Visions of all those quilts you were going to make for each and every person on your list coming to mind and how you have exactly NONE of them done.
Well never fear because I am going to share with your quilts that you can sew in a day  or even half a day if you are speedy. Quilts with clear directions, bold lines and most are very stash friendly making them very affordable!
First off is Birch Bark  which is just waiting for you to use those those 2.5 inch strip rolls that you have been hoarding ( come on, you know it is true). We sell a shit-load of this pattern each month and there is a reason why. SUPER FAST construction that makes the most of a colorful array of fabrics making this pattern easy to use with anything from novelty fabrics to batiks. Finished size for the quilt is 48 x 64 and it uses one jelly roll or 42ish WOF strips cut at 2.5 inches wide.  Think of this as an AMAZING stash buster pattern.
( 42 Strips, plus 1/4 yard for contrast bar and 1/2 yard for binding)
Loose Change is the next one up. This quilt is a bit bigger at 60 x 84 and it is visually a bit more graphic with bold lines that make it easy to see this quilt as pictured of course but also as a two color quilt.  Maybe all oranges and white for your favorite  TN Volunteer Fan?
I can also totally see this quilt being just smashing with the Miss Kate Jelly Roll and a matching solid. Slap some of the Miss Kate flannel on the back and then give it to me! 🙂
( 30 WOF strips, plus 2.5 yrds of background fabric – 2/3 yard for binding)
Even bigger you say?????.. ok… How about some Easy Money
This quilt is 84 x 104 and is an easy and loose version of a “stacked coins” quilt. .. if you are not brilliant with seam matching this quilt it for you… as well as it’s sneaky hints on how make make this quilt look cool and improvisational without a lot of fabric waste!  While many fabric will work well for this quilt focus on making sure that your background is in high contrast to your “coins”. Pull from your stash with 52 WOF strips 2.5 inches wide or pick up a  jelly roll  to do the heavy lifting in this quick quilt.
Make it really modern with a Grunge Jelly Roll and some Grunge yardage
(52 WOF strips, 4 yards background fabric, 3/4 binding)
Over run with Fat Quarters?… Gather 14 of them into a color story and get to work on Fast Fourteen
54 x 68 so just perfect for snuggling up. This quilt makes the most of that crazy collection of Fat Quarters you have been amassing.. it is time to use them!
(14 Fq’s , inner border 1/4 yard, outer border 1/2 yard, 1/2 yard binding)
So there you go, 4 quilts that will have you knocking out gifts left and right in no time. …
Which one will you pick? Â Leave a comment and if you would be so kind share this post and we will give away one copy of the pattern with the most votes at the end of the week!!

Loose Change – I just love the symmetry of the small pieces
Ok, now that I can breathe again after the shock of how many days I don’t have left, I would choose Loose Change to whip up in a jiffy. I wonder if I can squeeze another project in…?
Loose Change!
Fast Fourteen!
Loose change is my fave. I have promised to make a quilt for each of my 5 grandsons. My only Grandaughter is oldest and has had her for over 10 years. She happily announced she was ready for her second one. I have two commissioned quilts to make. A great niece’s to bind. A full size log cabin to bind and give to the son of my friend who lost her battle with cancer before she finished it. A very large pattern called star stuck to bind and an original Victorian black work quilt to finish, quilt and bind for my sister in love. Actually it’s going out for quilting.
Easy money
I love birch bark! This pattern would change just by the fabric selection. Amazing possibilities!
Wow birch bark is awesome!! If I don’t win it I will have to buy it 🙂
Birch bark is, by far, the best pattern for quick quilts! Very clever design and fast, fast, fast! I could make the top in about 2 hours! The best!
loose change for sure!!!
love birch bark but easy money is nice as well. Hard to choose – they are all winners!!! 🙂
Loose Change is it for me! Love that pattern.
I like Easy Money.
I really like #1 Birch Bark. But, the Fast Fourteen would be fun to do also!
So I’ll be the odd one out and choose #4 – Fast Fourteen. What can I say, I like wonky…. and I just purchased a bundle of 15 FQ – Perfect!
Maddie – you are awesome! I always feel better after reading your blog posts. I am a constant reader of yours. Love your attitude about being yourself and living a full life. Are you an attendee or an exhibitor at Quilt Market? I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to meet you and say thanks.
P.S. Are your patterns available to be sold in other LQS? I have a small shop in rural Central Texas and would love to sell your patterns, esp. Fast Fourteen as I do not carry precuts right now. 🙂
Love the Loose Change one but like the Easy Money too
Loose Change!! Great ideas here, love a quilt top in a day….or two!
Loose change is my favorite!
My Favorite is Birch Bark, I’ve been saving a jelly roll called Bobbins and Bits for a special quilt pattern. That one is unique. : )
I think Birch Bark would be fun and pretty with just about any jelly roll. Though the Fast Fourteen is tempting as I have lots of big chunks of scrapage!
I would say Tossed Coins with the Grunge jelly roll. Love the look of Grunge and on a black or dark gray background it would be a keeper for sure.
I like Loos Change, different and looks like fun.
Loose Change… From my new Tula Pink Moonshine design roll. Yum!!
I like “Loose Change”–but to my librarian’s eyes, they look like TBR
books (To Be Read). Fun design!
I meant “EASY MONEY” and not Loose Change.
Loose change is my favorite.
easy money
I like birch bark best…
Love them all but I am going to have to have Birch Bark!
it’s a toss up over loose change and birch bark. But I think my final choice would be loose change. It’s has just the right pop.
Loose Change.
Self admitted strip roll hoarder:)
I would have to go with Birch Bark. I love jelly rolls as cutting fabric is my least favorite part of quilting. I would seriously rather iron.
Although, I know of a stash of fruit and vegetable fat quarters that would make an awesome Fast Fourteen.
I love easy money…and I could see making some easy money with that quilt. It looks super fun…and gives me a reason to come shop for fun fabric!
I would choose Fast Fourteen.
I like Birch Bark, but all of them are fantastic!
My favorite is a toss up between Birch Bark and Loose Change. I’m leaning a bit heavier on Loose Change since I’d be making this for my grown son who ALWAYS has loose change laying around his house. I love this pattern and would love to win it!
My first choice is Birch Bark (because I have a few jelly rolls sitting in my cabinet that have been begging to become something, and that one doesn’t require a background fabric).
My second choice is Fast Fourteen; I’d love to try to find 14 FQs that play nicely together and give that a try. Wonder if I could do it in red/white/blue/gold as a Quilt of Valor?
Loose change, but I never win, so off to order them
Ooh Loose Change is a fun one!!
#2 in Christmas red and green or yellows and cream.
Love those stacked coins! And all my mistakes will look “cool and improvisational”!!
Well, hot diggity! I’m so honored!! Maddie – please pick 2 winners and I’ll send the second!
Love ya 🙂
Such a tough choice, I keep scrolling up and down to look at each one, but in the end I think my favourite is Birch Bark.
I like easy money. Thanks for the chance to win. I’ve also shared your giveaway on my Giveaway List for sewers and quilters at wowilikethat.com. Thanks again.
Loose Change really speaks to me.
Loose change looks great! And I have a ton of 2 1/2 inch strips ready to go…
But, but, but … they’re all so wonderful! How do I choose? Eeanie, meanie, meinie, EASY MONEY. Whew.
I’m crushing on Loose Change for sure!
I’m going with number three! (Although, I love the 14 fat quarters one also.)
Tough choice! Really like the first three patterns the most, but since I must pick only one–probably #2. Would love to make it with Basic Grey’s, ‘Grunge’ line–one of my very favorites (like playing with a big box of crayon!).
