Well I have to say that right now I feel lucky to be getting this post up.. life has been seriously getting in the way… is it ever that way for you? Â I have currently made my way to my office … a slow go at best given that my knee looks like a very ugly cantaloupe and hurts like crazy. And when I say hurt, I am a woman who has given birth to 11 pound babies unmedicated and started back to work the day after having a hysterectomy.. and people.. this hurts!.. Current best guess is that it is a Baker’s Cyst, but I hope to know more on Monday.. so perhaps when you are reading this I will have already have had it drained and feel SO very much better… let’s just hope for that huh??
But no matter… it is week THREE and I am so excited about how many of you are playing along and coming to learn about notions that I think you are going to LOVE.
First up today is a product that some of you have caught site of in my videos when I was talking about binding. Â Yes, I am the very happy owner of a Binding Babies Binding Spool!… Such an adorable way to keep binding ready for a quilt and then to help dispense it as I sew!
Full discluorse I am an Angel Backer for Binding Babies because I love to see a new business succeed!
But maybe you need one right away!…I am thinking of this as my GO-TO gift for the sewers and quilters in my life this holiday season. Can you image this cuteness in your sewing room?… Â Well the ever so amazing Shari of Doohickey Designs has sent a binding baby for EACH OF OUR WINNERS! So no matter which week you win in you will have a binding baby of your own!
As a sweet, sweet bonus one of our winners is going to be the proud owner of one of Shari’s Ruler Roundups!

Next up, I could not be more excited to welcome Karen Kay Buckley to the Notions Round-Up. I squealed like a school girl when she agreed to come on as a sponsor. I am a serious fan girl of her products and of her scissors most of all. Â Karen has been most generous and all of our winners will be getting one or more of her amazing products.
I think that when a quilter is the one who is creating a product for themselves and other quilters there is a level or care and knowledge that goes into the creation of the product. They know the challenges you are facing and are creating products that help you over come issues that hamper doing the best work possible.
For me it is her scissors. Karen Kay Buckley Scissors have soft flexible handles that are easy on my joints which are often swollen or cranky coupled with being wicked sharp and having possibly the most perfect micro serration that grips the fabric and helps make incredibly precise cutting of appliqué a breeze! They come in multiple sizes for just about every project!
That said I had so many customers who sung the praises of her multipart rulers that I would be totally remiss in not giving them a serious shout out. These are the rulers that you need and want if you travel with your quilting .. to retreats, or vacation. Easy to pack and machined to a remarkable tolerance to fit together smooth like glass.
A new product to me is Karen’s Perfect Thread Bag. I don’t know how I missed this but I am in LOVE with this. What a great way to keep your hand sewing threads with you, tidy, dust free and the way they thread out through the suede strip… GENIUS! Â As the owner of 7 cats who happen to have a serious passion for thread spools… or should I say unspooling… this is an amazing way to keep thread safe for you and FROM them not to mention move things around the house…without dumping things all over the place.
So cool huh?…. well I have even more to show you but will be saving that for a livecast this week.  I am thinking Wednesday but  keep your eye on the BAQS FB page to make sure!
Ok… you all know what to do!.. Leave a comment and this time tell me if any of these notions are new to you and perhaps which ones are on your lust-list for the coming days!! We will pick the week 3 winner on Friday. All winner packages will be sent out at the end of the month with a variety of products from our sponsors. Winning in any one week does not guarantee you the products from that week but does get you a large box full of amazing notions goodness from our generous sponsors!!

Notion, you can never have enough! Love all the products that make quilting less stressful!
So many cool notions…. So many I haven’t seen at my local shops yet. I will be asking about that binding baby. So cute! The scissors are truly the best!
I have read great reviews on the scissors, and hope to own a pair soon. I had never seen the multi-part rulers – what a great idea! You have shown us some exceptional notions and inspired much drooling!
Some wonderful notions! Perfect for all quilters. Hope your knee issue gets resolved asap. Good luck and thank you!
Love all these awesome notions, need more time to sew!
Not exactly a new concept, but the ruler roundups are a pretty cool color/style splash and would look great in my sewing room… just sayin’!
I haven’t seen the thread bag – that is too cool!
The binding baby! I’ve see pics of them but wasn’t sure what it did. Just awesome!!! Thanks for the chance to win!!
The binding babies are so cute. Hope you are feeling better.
What great stuff but
More importantly thanks for
Your contributions to important groups and causes!
Love love Karen Kay Buckley’s scissors!!!!
I am in love with the ruler system! That will definitely be on my Christmas list!! 🙂 I would be over the moon to win!!
OMG I love how you give such a great review on products! Thank you so much!
I have never seen the thread bag or rulers. They are great! I covet the Binding Babies!!!
Addie, your notions round-up is sew much fun and a great way to introduce us to amazing tools and the genius tool designers, too. Thank you. I would love to win any of them and the bonus is knowing there will be a Binding Baby in my package is icing on the cake!
Those binding babies are so adorable. Wish I had one- I lost a whole plastic baggie of bobbins somewhere… sigh…
KKB scissors are my favorite, and would love to try a Binding baby
I love love love the thread bag! I had not seen the adjustable rulers either. Such cool stuff!
I have the scissors and they are great to use! I love the soft handles. All great notions. Need me some binding babies😃
I love, love, love all these! What a treat!
The multi-part ruler is new to me and I can see that it would be great for travel. I hesitate to take long rulers with me to retreats because I already have too many broken pieces from past ruler mishaps. They don’t fit back together nicely like the multi-part pieces do!
I confess I’ve seen all of them but haven’t indulged myself with any of them. Those scissors look like a must have though!
Have not seen any of these before, am seriously going to be looking for them.
Love and have some of the scissors. Have never seen the thread bag before. Pretty cool.
The sectional ruler looks very interesting. It would be great to carry to classes rather than a large fuller.
Karen Kay Buckly is “local” to my area. She is a wonderful teacher. I,too, am a fan of her quiltingroducts
Thank you Maddie some of these products are new to me so it is always great to keep up with all the new notions out there
I love them all but the Thread Bag is truly needed! I sew in a small<<<tiny space so this would be just perfect!
I love Kay’s scissors! Good scissors are a must have and Kay’s are the best!!! The adjustable ruler is on my want list.
These are all new to me! I am especially interested in the scissors and the rulers! Wow!
I’ve seen the Binding Babies online. Oh how cute they are! I’d love to have one of those and those scissors! And the rulers look like a winner too. Who am I kidding? These are all fabulous tools that is love to have!
Oh the binding babies are so cute! Waaay better than the paper towel tubes I currently use!
Sorry to hear about your knee. Those baker’s cysts can be brutally painful. Take care of yourself! Lusting over those rulers and the binding buddy – pretty cool idea! And what quilter could ever have enough pairs of scissors?!?!
I have been under a rock I guess…all are new to me, & all look desirable and useful. I buy scissors thinking I will find what works perfectly for me. Now I am jonesing for a pair of these!
I really love the scissors!!! I am currently working on 12 applique blocks of different kinds of cacti and have realized how lacking my scissors are for these difficult cuts. Thank you!
All of these notions are new to me. I would definitely like to try the scissors and the Adjustable Ruler.
I agree with you about the Karen Kay Buckley scissors—they are great! I love them so much I bought 3 different sizes. The Rulers I knew about, but have’ yet splurged, and the thread bag is totally new to me. Gotta get me a Binding Baby, though. Maybe it will make binding a little more fun?!
Those separating rulers are the bee’s knees! I’m always afraid of breaking my 24″ ruler when I take it anywhere.
I remember your introduction of the binding babies. So cute and practical.
Well I would love to try both the scissors and rulers, but it all looks great. Love these posts
Always need good scissors and someplace to store rulers.
Karen Kay Buckley scissors are the best! Sharpest and most comfortable scissors I e ever used.
The cutie patootie binding buddies I have seen. I’ve heard many great things about these scissors and they will be a future purchase. New to me is the thread keeper. This is one thing that is NOT well placed in my studio!
The multi part rulers and thread bags are new to me! So cool! I love learning about these new products 😀
I have seen the scissors and the ruler before, but I have not seen any of the other notions. I, of course, want them all!!! This is SO much fun. I’m a gadget girl, so I’m loving finding out about new notions.
Adore the binding buddies. Read the story and they are so cute. The ruler roundup is so needed! Clever and compact. In fact several are needed. The thread case would be perfect for all my traveling!!! Hope I win! Good luck to everyone.
I love the Binding Babies!! They are so cute!!!
All of these notions are new to me. Except the scissors I have two different pairs and love them.
Adjustable rulers are a brilliant idea.
I’ve never seen the multi part rulers. How neat are they! I’ve heard great things about the Karen K. Buckley scissors but have never used them.
Hope your knee problem has been solved and you are back to your fabulous self soon!
Wow am I a babe in the woods!!! These are all new to me so any of them would be fantastic to win!!
