Well I have to say that right now I feel lucky to be getting this post up.. life has been seriously getting in the way… is it ever that way for you? ย I have currently made my way to my office … a slow go at best given that my knee looks like a very ugly cantaloupe and hurts like crazy. And when I say hurt, I am a woman who has given birth to 11 pound babies unmedicated and started back to work the day after having a hysterectomy.. and people.. this hurts!.. Current best guess is that it is a Baker’s Cyst, but I hope to know more on Monday.. so perhaps when you are reading this I will have already have had it drained and feel SO very much better… let’s just hope for that huh??
But no matter… it is week THREE and I am so excited about how many of you are playing along and coming to learn about notions that I think you are going to LOVE.
First up today is a product that some of you have caught site of in my videos when I was talking about binding. ย Yes, I am the very happy owner of a Binding Babies Binding Spool!… Such an adorable way to keep binding ready for a quilt and then to help dispense it as I sew!
Full discluorse I am an Angel Backer for Binding Babies because I love to see a new business succeed!
But maybe you need one right away!…I am thinking of this as my GO-TO gift for the sewers and quilters in my life this holiday season. Can you image this cuteness in your sewing room?… ย Well the ever so amazing Shari of Doohickey Designs has sent a binding baby for EACH OF OUR WINNERS! So no matter which week you win in you will have a binding baby of your own!
As a sweet, sweet bonus one of our winners is going to be the proud owner of one of Shari’s Ruler Roundups!

Next up, I could not be more excited to welcome Karen Kay Buckley to the Notions Round-Up. I squealed like a school girl when she agreed to come on as a sponsor. I am a serious fan girl of her products and of her scissors most of all. ย Karen has been most generous and all of our winners will be getting one or more of her amazing products.
I think that when a quilter is the one who is creating a product for themselves and other quilters there is a level or care and knowledge that goes into the creation of the product. They know the challenges you are facing and are creating products that help you over come issues that hamper doing the best work possible.
For me it is her scissors. Karen Kay Buckley Scissors have soft flexible handles that are easy on my joints which are often swollen or cranky coupled with being wicked sharp and having possibly the most perfect micro serration that grips the fabric and helps make incredibly precise cutting of appliquรฉ a breeze! They come in multiple sizes for just about every project!
That said I had so many customers who sung the praises of her multipart rulers that I would be totally remiss in not giving them a serious shout out. These are the rulers that you need and want if you travel with your quilting .. to retreats, or vacation. Easy to pack and machined to a remarkable tolerance to fit together smooth like glass.
A new product to me is Karen’s Perfect Thread Bag. I don’t know how I missed this but I am in LOVE with this. What a great way to keep your hand sewing threads with you, tidy, dust free and the way they thread out through the suede strip… GENIUS! ย As the owner of 7 cats who happen to have a serious passion for thread spools… or should I say unspooling… this is an amazing way to keep thread safe for you and FROM them not to mention move things around the house…without dumping things all over the place.
So cool huh?…. well I have even more to show you but will be saving that for a livecast this week. ย I am thinking Wednesday but ย keep your eye on the BAQS FB page to make sure!
Ok… you all know what to do!.. Leave a comment and this time tell me if any of these notions are new to you and perhaps which ones are on your lust-list for the coming days!! We will pick the week 3 winner on Friday. All winner packages will be sent out at the end of the month with a variety of products from our sponsors. Winning in any one week does not guarantee you the products from that week but does get you a large box full of amazing notions goodness from our generous sponsors!!

I have never heard of binding babies. They are adorable
These are all great! I would any or all of them!
I’ve been lusting over Karen’s scissors and now I want that thread bag to put them in.
I bought binding babies for friends for gifts – would be happy to own one for myself! ๐
the rulers and thread bags sound great, too. Such great ideas!

Wow- I’ve always wrapped my binding around an empty ribbon spool. A binding baby would be so much better!!!
Those binding babies are adorable as is everything in the post!!! I love those scissors!! They are the best!!!
I never heard of the Binding Babies Binding Spools … how cool! Actually I never saw any of the items except the Karen Kay Buckley Scissors which are awesome.
I have one pair of Karen Kay Buckley scissors and absolutely love them. I think I would have to kill anyone who tries to use them! I have not heard or seen any of the other items, but they look like I need them ALL! Love you for all the things you do for us quilters and hope you are feeling much better!
I need the thread bag yesterday! Three curious cats and a very thread nervous Mom. This is perfect!
I have a pair of Karen’s scissors, and love them! Would love to try the other products!!
I have loved Karen’s scissors since I discovered them. I have never seen the rulers before and will now be on the hunt for those! I also signed on to back the Binding Babies. They will make fantastic gifts for my quilting buddies! The thread case is an amazing idea. I’d like to see it in person.
I love the scissors but have not seen Karens thread bag nor the take apart rulers. All are great gadgets! Thanks so much for sharing!
WoW I have to say all but the Binding Babies are new to me. Hard to choose a favorite, probably the thread bag, mom to 4 cats here! This is an amazing give-away you’re doing…oh yeah, you’re amazing! Feel Better soon.
I have to admit to not having any of these and I have a lot of quilting toys. The two that appeal to me the most are the scissors and the rulers.
I really like the ruler roundup! Nifty way to keep the ones in use from disappearing under the fabric I’m trying to cut.
So sorry about your knee. Hope you find an easily fixable answer. I too well know the pain of arthritic knees and have had 1 replaced. That was so much better that I thought it would be. Still, I hope for you not to need something so major.
All the notions look wonderful but the rulers look most intriguing. I just love going thru notions at my favorite LQSs.
The thread bag looks amazing. So organized!
Thread bag and multi part rulers are new to me. I love the binding babies๐ Too cute, maybe I should by myself one for Christmas ๐
All of them are tempting – still on my wish list . I hadn’t seem the thread caddy before – what a great idea!!
Karen Kay Buckley scissors are seriously my favs love the tiny ones.
The binding babies are really intriguing. I already own all four of Karen Buckley’s scissors and they are just as great as you said they are. I also have her adjustable rulers and always take them to quilt retreats. The thread keeper would be so handy for traveling to retreats, too.
I’m liking all of them , but, the multi part ruler & the ruler round up are especially great! Thanks to all for the chance to win! Feel better soon, Maddie!
Oh my gosh, those binding babies are darling. They remind me of my grandmother and I’d love to have them come live in my sewing room. And anything Karen Kay Buckley does is sheer genius, goes without saying, I suppose.
What great notions. I’ve heard about Binding Buddies and Karen Buckley’s scissors but don’t have them. Would love to check out her scissors in person!
They are all new to me, but I am itching to get those scissors for my Gma.
The Ruler Roundup and the thread bag are new to me. Those and the KKB scissors are very tempting.
I have been enamored of the binding babies for a while, and I think my quilting friends will be receiving those as Christmas presents. Would love to have one of my own! The travel thread bag is new to me, but I โค๏ธ it very much.
Love the Binding Buddies – so much nicer looking than an old toilet paper or paper towel roll ! Need to get one of those take apart rulers – not so I can go on a quilt retreat (maybe in a few more years) but so I can hide it better in my drawer so the kids can’t find !
Oh my ! Every week the notions just get better and better!
I have all of Karen K. Buckley’s scissors and they’re awesome! I will be looking for Binding Buddies and Ruler Round-ups – great designs and useful!
I sponsored the Binding Babies a bit ago, and I’m waiting for them to arrive! I would love to have more though! I’ve not seen the thread caddie, either! I think I’m lusting for it! We can always depend on you to bring the super cool stuff to our attention!
So sorry you’re hurting! Thanks for posting such cool stuff, too.
I love my tiny KB scissors; couldn’t do applique without them, and that’s a fact, jack!
I hadn’t seen the multipart rulers before- I am intrigued.
The resourcefulness of sewists never ceases to amaze me ๐
Another week of nifty notions. I love Karen Buckley’s adjustable ruler and the thread bag.
All new to me but look totally awesome!!
WOW, what a great lot of notions. I have a pair of Susan’s scissors and love, love them. I’ve been looking at the travel ruler for retreats and the info provided here has put me even close to purchasing it.
Thanks for the opportunity to see new to me notions combined with the opportunity to win some of them.
Amazing great supplies every person needs all of these toys to add to their supply of tools.
I’m liking that Thread bag- i haven’t seen that one before
I’m in love…just not sure what with…..in that I mean I couldn’t pick one. Like a small child I WANT IT ALL…….
I am loving the binding babies. I also use and love the scissors .
Scissors!!! Must have those lucious soft handles!!!
I use the scissors regularly and love them! All of the other products are new to me but all sound great.
Everything is awesome…might share with my Sis! ๐The binding baby is a great idea!!! Thanks for the chance
Love the binding angels
So many fun products. I see a few Christmas gift ideas.
I have never heard of the binding babies but sounds like a great product. Ruler of varying sizes oh my, got to love that.
I love Karen Kay Buckley and her classes … however I did not know about the scissors cuz it’s been a long time, they look like something I seriously have to have!
Wow! I really love all of this weeks notions. The Binding baby is such as fantastic idea, especially when binding larger quilts. And no quilter can do without rulers…these are perfect for travelling along with all of the other notions,,,but I think my all time ed fab is the thread caddy…what a great way to store your thread especially when travelling or for a specific project. My thread usually ends up looking like a tangled mess.
So many neat things!
Those notions are all new to me – I like the Binding Babies the best!
I love everything! The binding babies are so sweet and I have a serious scissor addiction.
