First off thank you to all the companies that have taken part in the this year’s Round-Up. We are already taking applications for the Spring Round-Up so if you have developed or represent a product that you would like to see featured please drop me a line and I will get you information!
To all of you who have read, watched and left comments.. thank you as well for being part of our community! With near 22 thousand members we hope to represent a quilting demographic that can often seem underserved. We will always stand on the side of love, progressive action and BadAss inspiration no matter quilting, sewing or social issues.

I really love nothing more than when I get to share products developed by those I know in the industry. Today I am tickled that I can share with your the Shortcut Binding Tool from my friends at The Quilting Squares Quilt Shop in Franklin TN. Their brand identity is as the Franklin Quilt Company
Kay and Kathy are dynamic quilters spending their time bringing the joy of quilting to both local and national customers with not only their store, but their patterns and tools as well.
If you have ever wanted to create a quilt binding with a sharp looking flange this tool is going to be your new best notion!! Quilts with a binding flange have that extra little pop that makes them special and this tool makes it easy! One of our FOUR lucky winners will be getting on in their prize box!

Are you a stripper?…… some people are just crazy about the2.5 inch strips of fabric that come from rolls of fabric and collect them like candy! Well after a while you have to use up a bit of candy in order to buy more so that is where the people at Cozy Quilt Design and their Strip Tube Ruler and patterns come in!
Their StripTube Ruler in two sizes and make half square triangles a breeze by combining brilliant engineering with “the tube technique.” It’s perfect to use with strips and even includes directions to make our favorite block from 2½” strips:
The great people at Cozy Quilt Designs have patterns and rulers for 2 of our winners!!.. make sure to check out our live casts of FB this week to see more about the patterns and books included in the prize packages!

Sometimes lefties get left-out in the quilting world so it is nice to see a company who includes instructions for those who are both Left and Right Handed when it comes to using their products.
Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 Design Corner Pop Ruler helps all quilters gain incredible accuracy when it comes to patterns calling for traditional folded corners in up to 22 sizes! I don’t know about you, but accuracy is not my strongest suit so this is where really cool rulers like this make ALL the difference! One lucky winner is going to be making some spot-on corners very soon!
All right guys…. this was the final post of these series… did you appreciate this month of notions? Would you like to see even more new notions in the Spring? If so please leave a comment about what BAQS means to you and what part we play in your quilting life. We pick our winner on Friday.. so good luck to everyone… and may the sewing-force be with you!

I love notions and firmly believe that investing in the right tools is essential for any task, especially quilting. I’ve discovered so many great products via the Notions Roundup. I had not heard of the Corner Pop ruler but have put it at the top of my “must have” list. For whatever reason, I have always struggled with this method; other rulers I have tried trim both pieces at once – an improvement but still not always as accurate as I would like. Deb Tucker just might be my new hero, as her ruler looks like it may solve the wonkiness I can’t seem to avoid with this method.
I love BAQS – a friendly, down-to-earth, all-inclusive, judgement free place to share my passion for quilting and textiles. It is a good day when I get an email announcing a new post! As an animal lover, I also appreciate the “cameos” by Miss Leah!
I loved the motions round up. So many of the items were new to me. BASQ is my tribe!
Awesome stuff!!
BAQS means acceptance, love and i aint judged ( im youngish 4 kids and tattooed) for me or my slow quilting! I wear my jacket and tshirts with pride here in Australia x
Thank you! First, I am a gadget person so I love seeing new gadgets! Second, it was fun to have the chance to win said gadgets!
I love all the tools you come up with to work smarter, not harder!
As a self-taught quilter I’ll take all the help I can get…
I like seeing and learning about new notions here. If you do see something new in a store, you end up having to guess how to use it properly, because noone I know does demos at a LQS. Yes, please, keep doing these.
I’ve loved these notions giveaways..I have learned a lot from them 😊 BAQS is a place where I feel right at home..it’s like I know you Maddie ❤ I feel I can ask the stupidest question & not be judged for it or made fun of!!! I’ve learned a lot of things about quilting from BAQS…I love your videos 😊Thanks for having these giveaways Maddie & good luck everyone!!!!
I’m proud to be a BADASS 😀
I am proud to be a BadAss quilter! I always have fun here and love the great prizes you feature!
BAQS is where I come to fit in and not feel so weird.
See new notions in action is VERY helpful. It is hard to buy a new product then figure it out on your own. Your videos make a huge difference. Thank you!
Loved this month of notions! I saw some new ones and learned how to use some I already had but had forgotten about! 🙂
These notions are awesome! I have loved this series and would love to see it again in the Spring. You do such a good job at promoting, companies should be filling your mailbox with cool tools to review and an extra to give-away regularly!
Thanks for being such a bad ass!
These videos are so helpful in learning how to use a tool that you just purchased or deciding whether or not to actually purchase the tool. I love this web site and appreciate Maddies passion for quilting and her love of animals . Keep up the great work!
I have thoroughly enjoyed the Notions and the Roundup. I appreciate that we get to see Notions I may have never discovered on my own and plus local quilt stores don’t always carry the latest and greatest so thank you thank you.
I was a little skeptical about Deb Tucker’s rulers, at first. I mean, who needs to buy more rulers? Not me, esp since I’ve been quilting for a long time, I have tons of rulers I do not use.
I have been more than pleasantly surprised with these rulers. My LQS offers classes using these rulers and Deb has taken all the math out of it and your units, sub-units and final blocks are PERFECT EVERY TIME. Cannot recommend them highly enough.
It has been great to see some of the new items in the quilting world, especially those that may not have the 6-digit advertising budget it takes to get noticed.
Thank you Maddy for bringing this information to us.
It’s a no nonsense group with lots of great ideas and no judgement here. No stupid questions, no quilt police. Have fun, make great stuff.
Thanks for the opportunity to win these awesome notions
Bad Ass Quilters Society rocks! Best information. Maddie is always entertaining and I watch all her presentations. Wore my Bad Ass Quilters shirt to 2 quilt expos this year…Grand Rapids MI and Madison WI
BAQS is the only quilt group where I feel truly welcome and accepted.
I loved being introduced to some cool new notions! Thanks for all the great reviews
Love all the new notions and info. BAQS is where I feel I fit in…as I have never felt like my sort of quilting fit anywhere else. I have been part of other quilting guilds/groups in the past, over 30+ years of quilting and quickly learned that if I didn’t conform to the “norm”…well, then I really wasn’t part of the “group”. At BAQS there seems to be no judgement….we are all free to be individuals in our craft. Thank you, Maddie, for making me feel welcome! PS. Love the kitties….hope they are all doing well with your care & love.
I love this notions roundup idea and I have already bought Glide and a Colorwerx pattern. Next up – binding tool b/c I already have the Strip Tube ruler! Thanks, Maddie for making a place where everyone can feel welcome and not worry we are getting the side-eye from insiders!
Omg. BAQS is my escape from all the boring quilters out there!!!! Always love hearing about new things and techniques
BAQS is my happy place! I’m at ease being myself AND fitting in. Rulers…well the just RULE (the wall of my sewing room). The right tool for the right job!
This has been really fun.
I just recently discovered you guys, and it’s nice to have a place for “non-traditional” quilters. I’d love to see more notions in the spring!
Love learning about new tools-especially rulers. You can NEVER have too many of them.
I have very much enjoyed learning about these new products. Badass Quilters Society means the world to me. To have a company/organization that supports the actual ART of quilting; not the redundant repetitive patchwork of the masses!
notions roundup has been fun. I can be impulsive about buying, & sometimes things are not used because I really didn’t understand the application. It helps to see things in action.
BAQS is great.
BAQS makes me happy because it celebrates the wonderful diversity of humans and quilting. It is wonderful to have a safe space to play! The notions round up has been fun too because I got a chance to see a lot of new tools which opens up possibilities.
BAQS is my “home away from home”. I feel that even though I don’t have a “top of the line” machine I am still a quilter thanks to Maddie and her awesome attitude!! I truly appreciate you and the donors for showing new notions. I don’t frequent a lot of LQSs because if the “snooty” atmosphere, so I was thrilled to know you were going to show new notions all month! 🙂 Thank you so much Maddie and thanks to the sponsors!! You rock!!! 💜💜
Thank you Maddy and to the companies that helped make this month fun and enlightening.
Please, do this again!
I for one am always lookong for the next best thing to improve my quilting skills, or save fabric waste etc. Love the tools made for lefties too!!!
BAQS is my go-to source for info on all things quilting related. You are on top of current trends, welcoming to quilters of all levels, and willing to try things first and tell us about them. I have become a better quilter because of BAQS, because I’ve tried some products that I would not have otherwise considered.
New notions are always fun. I’ve bought a few that you featured, and want some of the others as well. Thanks for keeping us informed, even though it usually costs me!!
I love notions!
Absolutely loved the opportunity to see new quilting notions that living in a small town I wouldn’t normally see! If I go out and buy that product and show my guild it starts a wave of purchases! Some companies need to think about the common everyday quilter!
This has been a very interesting series. Thank you.
Love learning new tips and ideas.. NOT to mention new notions!!! Always lots of good information here!
Awesome stuff! Thanks Maddie!
I love to see the new notions and rulers. So many projects, so little time.
Love being introduced to all these notions which I might never have known about otherwise! Thank you!
Yes, truly enjoy these posts, and would love all of these notions/tools to quilt beautiful things!
I really enjoyed the notions previews. The videos and info helped me determine whether I need them in my studio or not. I look forward to the Spring version. BAQS is my go-to source for information on trends in quilting.
Thank you to Maddie & all the companies that donated their special notion! It has been great seeing new things that I have never seen before…especially the ones that had videos!
BAQS is where I come to feel like part of a group without the pressure of trying to fit in.
Thank you Maddie for putting this together and thank you to all the sponsors who donated.. 🙂 Found a few more items to add to the sewing room..
Notions are *always* fun…
BAQS is my place to not feel like such a weirdo in the quilting world.
