If you were hanging around last month when we were talking about some of my new favorite tools for quilting and I was talking about The Little Flipper you know that I am a really big fan of Kim Brunner and her work as a quilter and a teacher. The products she develops fit my needs as a quilter and the nice part of it is that her templates can be used on the longarm and the domestic!
Well, having the templates is just the start since from there you can fill to your hearts content and that is what I am thinking about right now and that is where this tip comes from. Again, this tip works for anyone using templates for either their longarm or domestic machine sewing… so why not give it a look?
See…. didn’t I tell you?… so what do you think? Are you getting the most out of your templates or are you still working up the nerve to dive in and give them a try?
Do remember that it is CRITICAL that you have a foot MADE for working with templates since no matter how steady you think you are it is WAY too easy to ride up over the acrylic, shatter the templates and knock your machine out of timing. Almost all brands have feet made for templates now, so get one and dive on in… the water is fine!
Our Winner is Adam Rateliff!

Just starting to quilt my own quilts.
I also signed up for Kimmy’s Craftsy class, so it would be great to have these templates. Thanks for the chance to win.
Oh man, learning to quilt with templates would be wonderful! I have several tops ready now to practice on.
Thanks for the chance.
I would like to explore more with the use of color in quilt designing. My confidence in color choices is a little weak. Thanks for the giveaway! akronne17@gmail.com
I need to learn to quilt better with templets sometimes I can stay right with them and others I’m just slipping around. I need to learn to do it better
Love taking classes with Kimmy and I would love to have her templates.
My next project is a whole cloth wall quilt. These templates would make marking and quilting a badassquilting time of it!

I would love to win these…have looked at them for a while and LOVE ruler work…these look perfect for a quilt waiting on deck to be quilted!!
I just got a ruler foot, so this is definitely the next thing I want to learn! Thanks for the great giveaway!
I just finished 2 quilt tops on which the melon templates would work well. Thanks BAQS and Kimmyquilt.com for the opportunity!
I would like to learn to design better quilting for my borders. I love templates!
These templates are on my wish list. I bought Miss Kimmy’s craftsy class and I want to learn to do the quilt she features. I love her creativity and I want to be a BadAss Quilter one of these days.
Before you post my comment, please change Jimmy to Kimmy. I have got to disable auto correct! Thanks
I would love to have this set! Miss Jimmy only seems to have the best stuff. I have several Wedding Ring tops that I need to get up the nerve to quilt and it would be wonderful to be able to try these out on them.
I would love to play with these melon templates. I’ve been working with other shaped but these look amazing!
Ruler work is something I need to work on, and this looks like just what I need to do it!
I really would like to do some embroidery, I haven’t done it in years.
The melon has always been a favorite of mine…now even more so…I need these melons
wow! looks like fun!
I love this shape. I have been thinking about a quilt Joseph coat of many colors. These templates would make it so easy for piecing and quilting. Would love to win. Thanks for the opportunity.
I’ve always wanted to make a double wedding ring quilt, so this tip is super helpful. I’d love to see more tutorials on curved piecing.
Ohhh, nice tip…I use 2 pencils taped together for years…but I have not used templates for quilting yet…yes for appliques and orange peel quilts…but only use a walking foot for quilting on machine or hand quilt…would love to win a set…..
This! The use of rulers is what I’m dying to try. I have been less than stellar with my practice of Gmx and I think having something like these rulers to provide a little linear guidance Would be fabulous!
I would LOVE to try quilting with templates! I wonder if they make template feet for vintage singer sewing machines, which is what I use? Hoping so. I need all the help I can get with my machine quilting!
I have finished my first quilt using templates and am hooked! I love creating my own designs. I look forward to becoming more proficient with feathers. Theses templates would be great for spines.
I just got the foot to use with rulers and templates. I’m waiting to attend a quilt show at the end of the month to get my first ruler. I’m really excited about using rulers on my home machine.
I’ve just recently started doing ruler work and would love to add this shape to my stash of tools for quilting. With 6 baby quilts to work on over the past year, I need alternatives to keep myself interested.
Yes, I would love to have this set!
Ruler work; I’ve done some but it’s been a while.
