Hats off to all of you who march and sew to the beat of your own drummer. To you who take pride in advocating for or being one of those to fight the status quo from the boardroom to the bedroom to the sewing room.
I have a goal for April. I would like to hit 20,000 Facebook members on out way to 21k!!!
Giveaway Winner is Blythe Jones!
THANK YOU!
You are my tribe and I salute you and all you do to make this community so amazing and supportive.

I would love to win a badass hat!!
The name just couldn’t be skipped. I had to join!
I knew your page was for me because I am a badass quilter too.
Love all your badass ways!!
I relish in your alternate mindset regarding quilting. Your ideas are allowing us to put a new face on what it means to be a quilter.
Don’t need to explain myself, my quilting style, choices to anyone. That’s badass.
I joined because I liked what you stood for. I like your teaching style. And. I didn’t feel like it fit anywhere else. The encouragement you give is outstanding! It would be an honor to represent badass quilters everywhere with this awesome hat!
I like this tribe. I am on schedule to learn FMQ and ruler quilting. I have my necessary equipment and am nearly ready to get going. I have gotten some much needed encouragement and incentive right here….
I joined because anybody can be a quilter but I want to be a bad ass quilter, and I really need the hat to prove it,
I would love to win the Bad Ass hat and wear it with pride!
The blog link showed up in my email and I was really delighted with what I read. I decided to give it a try. I’ve loved the videos and I love my new BadAss Quilter bag and T shirt. I just ordered quilters Nike stickers to give out as prizes at our next Guild meeting. I am looking forward to learning more new and interesting things!
I joined because I appreciate your inclusive, joyful attitude. BASQ is, well, badass! In the future some type of meet ups would be fun.
I would love the that BadAss Hat! I can wear it with my BadAs T-Shirt.
Thanks for all you do Maddie.
The quilter inside me wanted to belong…so where else but BAQS!! Free to be me! Love my hoodie I finally got after trying for a few years. Got a few snickers from my elderly guild “sisters.” 😉
Love that you aren’t afraid to speak your mind. And that you aren’t afraid of nudity, even if there is no penis.
Would love more beginner tips or an area for beginners. Also meetups with local BAS folks.
I would love a hat. I bet it will start quite a few conversations.
I love to make Badass quilts!! Ask about the skull bargello!
Just had your cute hat pop up somewhere in my Facebook stuff and thought, dang, I need to check this one out! Love you page and happy to be following. I need that hat! and maybe a few other things 🙂
I told my daughters that for Mother’s Day, they can get me anything from Badass Quilters. I would wear it with pride.
I knew this site was for me by the name!
I really need this hat to wear to a retreat where some quilters say that we are too old to wear leggings – that’s all I wear these days. This hat would set them off. LOL!!!
Love the attitude that just because we “quilt” doesn’t mean we aren’t relevant.
Loved the name!
A quilty friend recommended I check out BAQS because I’m sort of a badass myself. Haha. I’m a tattooed, rocking, cussing, stay-home Army wife, running quilter. And I grit my teeth at sewing machine snobs!!
I came across BAQS while Googling something else, stopped to visit the Rocky Horror challenge, & never left…
I would love this hat! Would wear it proudly just as I do my sweatshirt.
I am always surprised at the number of husbands that comment on my sweatshirt. Of course I let them know where they can purchase one for their wives, or themselves!
Thanks Maddie
What attracted me to the BAQS? Uh – because being a BadAss quilter is better than just being a BigAssed quilter, I guess.
🙂 I <3 BAQS
– Holly in Florida
I wear my tshirt with pride!! We need to let our bad ass selves shine!
Grew up catholic so am still feeling my way through this badass thing. A Hat might be the thing that will transform me….I do so what to be badass.
I enjoy the BAQS because of the freedom and encouragement to blaze your own quilting path, with the absence of the quilt police enforcing the longstanding established rules of proper quilting.
Being a badass quilter is something to be proud of and we should all wear these hats to show everyone we stand together
Congratulations on reaching the 20,000 mark!!!
It doesn’t surprise me as Maddie is a fearless leader! I would be proud to wear a BadAss cap ANYWHERE!!
I love the quilt is the way “you” want to attitude. I like the Bad to the Bone feeling.
I love the videos & would love to see more non-traditional quilting
I love that it is a judgement free zone where everyone’s individual styles and talents are celebrated! I love that it is against the grain and not-so-serious. And of course I love the shock-and-awe expression when I say “Yeah, I’m part of BadAss Quilters Society, cuz you know, I’m a BadAss….”
You give quilting a whole new world of fun. Love it.
I joined because I was tired of the “Quilt Police” even though my style leans to the traditional. There are several quilting goddesses who could only be called Badass, and who wouldn’t want to be like them!
The name captured my attention and made me laugh out loud. As a former member of the now defunct Sewing Terrorist Society of the 80’s, I thought – “now here are some people I ca relate to”. I don’t belong to groups here. There is a sheep mentality of everyone following te leader that makes me crazy. So Badass Quilters saved my sanity and always makes me laugh.
I joined because I enjoy your opinions. Most of the time they mirror my own. You are the type of person I would see being a friend. We are definitely not the rose colored glasses crowd. We tell like it is whether you want to hear it is your choice. Keep up the great work. You inspire me!!!
Cute hat! Looks great on you Madfie!!!!
Love it!!
Because rules are made to be broken.
I joined because I liked what you say & love to be inspired to create!
Loving the new hat!!
Hey, if I win this one I might actually get a hat I’ve won. Never do seem to get what I win.
Love the “why can’t we do that” ideology! I try to share that with my niece who’s learning quilting.
There are no quilt police! All styles are accepted-traditional,modern,artsy, and everything in between. The support for all is amazing.
Love the BadAss hat. It would go very nicely with my BadAss travel mug and car sticker. Pick me, pick me!
Judgement free. Just be yourself and like it !!
I joined this page for all the new, fresh ideas you present and love it when you show us all the new gadgets. I need a Badass hat. Going to Paducah for Quilt Week and need the hat for my bed head in the early mornings. Thanks for all you do, Maddie!
