Hats off to all of you who march and sew to the beat of your own drummer. To you who take pride in advocating for or being one of those to fight the status quo from the boardroom to the bedroom to the sewing room.
I have a goal for April. I would like to hit 20,000 Facebook members on out way to 21k!!!
Giveaway Winner is Blythe Jones!
THANK YOU!
You are my tribe and I salute you and all you do to make this community so amazing and supportive.

I’m quilter and I’m a badass. I want to share my quilts with everyone.
Badder than your average! My rollerderby/momof3/extendednursing-self felt right at home here. You kick ass and encourage us to do the same. Yay and hats off!
I just love your attitude. You love what you do.
So glad to find kindred souls…”Badass” to the core and accepting of everyone!
Quilters “just wanna have fun”!!!! Badass Quilter Sewciety rocks!!!
Happy to tell my peeps what a cool rule breaking quilter you are… my kind of dame!
The reason I joined was that I love what you said at Austin Tx. I love that you have an opinion and that you are what live by your word. That makes me just want to be a part of a group that has their own opinion and there is no real right or wrong opinion it is all yours to share!
Sorry meant to say Houston
I love the acceptance of everyone! And you share awesome quilts and techniques!
At first the name and I stayed because of the no quilt police 👮 policy!!!
Even though my age may say differently, I’m not a little old lady quilt maker. I like variety! I like to know what’s new and trendy, as well as the traditional and contemporary.
I am new to your site but look forward to becoming acquainted!
Where “quirky” is normal is a good place to be and have fun and share.
I found you through a link from another quilt blog. Love your posts. Thanks for what you do!
I’m somewhat new to quilting but I’d wear a “Bad Ass” badge with honor! Looking forward to following this group!
I love that ‘think out of the box’ attitude. I always have to push myself to do the same and then I have great results
Like many others, I don’t fit into a ‘mold’ of quilter. I decided to go my own way, making what I want and quilting the way I want, with no regard to quilt police or expectations. I also love that you honor those quilters who came before by delving into politics.
I must have this hat!
The name drew me in, and I think this is a good fit for me. I like to do my own quilting thing, but it’s still nice to have a posse when you need one!
Sassy encouragement and positive reinforcement that “we can…” that’s what it is all about!
The sassy attitude, nonjudgmental and support given to liberate us from peg in hole quilting and at the same time let us be a peg in hole quilter if we want to be
Badass is a judgement free Zone. Leave your critiques at the door. We love you as you are Maddie.
I love the BE YOURSELF attitude in Badass. Keep your critiques to yourself I am who I want to be.
I love that you are my sewing buddy from across the world and it’s like we are family in the coolest way ever. You are my friend who gives me advice even when I didn’t know I needed it and most importantly your BadAss attitude is super contagious and has rubbed off to me so now I’m a little BadAss. Keep up the great work so our family can continue to grow to amazing numbers 😘🤗😎
I joined because I felt I finally found my tribe!! Rebels, innovators and creators. The vibe here is positive and friendly.
I love that you make us feel like we know you…it seems like I’ve known you forever…it’s a place where I can be myself and voice my opinion without the fear of anyone saying anything nasty…I look forward to your videos Maddie..don’t ever change 😀
No fustiness, no judgments –outspoken and proud of it. My kind of group!
I joined because of the attitude and independence in quilting. We are a tribe, the Badass tribe!
I joined the BAQS because I just don’t fit in with traditional quilt guilds. I don’t like to be pigeonholed, and I don’t get that feeling here. You all are my people!!!
Acceptance and attitude. I live the vides you do.
I had seen references to BAQS, but thought it sounded a little too gung-ho for me. Then came the SAQA show within the AQS show that kicked out Kathy Nida’s quilts, and you showed them in your store. I appreciated that, and the “Where’s the Penis?” buttons. I started reading your posts here, and enjoyed them enough to read from the beginning! Now I’ve told FB about y’all.
I love the free spirit and inclusiveness of BadAss Society. Everyone is welcome and accepted. Keep up the openness and sharing <3
Pretty much what everyone else has said- I am more into quilting as an artform, and I don’t always follow traditions.
I’ve always been a rebel and love doing things my own way!
I was intrigued by the name & wanted to find this bold new store. Alas it is not in Texas. Joined the group because I can be a “bad ass” without encouragement from anyone. Thanks & keep up the good work.
The attitude, the acceptance and respect, and the new tools you show us.
Oh and the giveaways, definitely the giveaways!
I love the non judgemental attitude. No pressure.
I was attracted by the judgement free atmosphere at Bad Ass Quilts.
I love that this group rejects the idea of quilters being frumpy old ladies making Civil War reproduction quilts. Unless that is your thing- in that case, go for it. But quilting today is so much more and is practiced by such a wide variety of people. We are unique. We are awesome. We are BadAss.
Bad asses must stick together!
Great group of laid back BadAss quilters with the best Queen of Bad Asses!!
Love the love. And the absence of bs. And the love.
I joined because I was tired of feeling the judgement o the quilt police or the ‘too good to be true’ quilt blogosphere where everyone knows everyone and it seems to be turning into a circle jerk of a clique that promotes the members of the clique. In short, I wanted my hobby to feel less like high school. 🙂 Love feeling like I can be me, whatever that is day to day.
Feeling like there is a quilt group that I feel at home in!
What drew me here was your non traditional approach to being a quilter. Because I don’t really fit into a specific kind of quilter, and I’m okay with that! And so are you :). What do I want to see? No clue! Keep it coming
Love being a member and I love the open mindedness of the groups culture. I was happy to share.
Because you ROCK. 🙂
I was intrigued by the name of this group and joined because it was fresh and anti quilt police. I would love to see more contests!
I really loved what I saw when I found this group. Young and hip in thinking and quilting.
I personally love seeing all the new products. I really would like to see more tutorials, like how you took that vintage piece and quilted it with rulers. Even though you showed some of that, was just a great idea.
Maybe something we could all work on together.
Freedom. So what if I do things differently. I’m tired of conforming all the time. I want to experiment and learn. I’m tired of the “crabs in a bucket” mentality.
I joined BAQ bc I was looking for people more like myself. People who thought outside the box and sewed all in, over, around and outside of it. I don’t follow the rules of traditional quilter’s, don’t look like them and I stand out when among them.
Attitude. It is all about the attitude. Love the non-fuddyduddyness.
