Love this fabric line! To get inspired I either go through my stash and put some together or, I find a pattern to show case the fabric.
I go to my Pinterest pages and remember all the things I want to make! Thanks for this awesome giveaway. The fabric is beautiful!
I start looking through patterns and my fabric stash then begin organizing my next project.
I usually go through my stash and the fabric just calls to me…I like having a connection with the fabric and the person in quilting for.
What gets me back to that lovin feeling, is finding a beautiful fabric buried in the depths of my stash which I temporarily had forgotten, then deciding what to use it for, cannot wait or the reveal of this new line
I am currently in a bag making mode, so I have been raiding the stash for linings that have absolutely nothing to do with the outside. Making each bag a surprise inside.
I have some collections I love but have not figured out what to do with them yet. I spread them across the back of the couch and admire them. If nothing inspires me in a couple of days, I put them away.
Finish a ufo. The rush of completion Sparks the desire to move to another project.
To get the loving feeling back I make something really scrappy! I start seeing the little pieces of fabrics I have used and realize I love the colours and patterns!
The fabric in this post is amazing! My youngest daughter loves loves loves elephants!
That is a very versatile collection.
Pulling out and refolding will sometimes rekindle that love and inspiration. Sometimes it’s just a soothing therapeutic activity. There’s always a place to rehome those bits that haven’t sparked joy…
Just able to watch video on fb…i know a little late…already have 2 or 3 project ideas…would love❤❤❤❤to win
Thanks again for opportunity
I find wandering aimlessly through the fabric store is sometimes all it takes!
I try to buy with a purpose, then I’m more apt to use it.
I just got home from picking up a stash from a sweet lady who can’t quilt anymore 🙁 I ‘file’ it into colors and along the way find a few beauties that I just MUST start cutting up! Two out of 3 are from 2010 (my first “quilty” year). LOVE ’em all !!
I love my fabric. I can go into the quilting room and just design away with all the fabric.
The caravan fabric is gorgeous!
I love grabbing a new pattern and then digging for what I might have for it. Even if it never gets cut or made, it’s nice to look at some things that I love. It’s also a good chance to pitch a few “what was I thinking” or “what kind of frienemy let me buy that!” kind of pieces.
Gawd-jus!!!
When I’m feeling a little uncreative and just BLAH….I pull out the a tote from under the bed (my hiding place) and just sit on the floor and go through all the beautiful fabrics I have collected. That little “therapy” helps the creative juices to flow and I’m off to the machine.
I had to clear off my bed upstairs for company. While I was putting away the fabric pieces, I found so many beautiful pieces I had purchased and never got around to using. I will now!
Since moving, I haven’t felt inspired, but these prints…I love them! They make me want to get right up and start again. I love the elephants and the prints they are made from, I can easily see exactly what kind of quilt those could be, they’re gorgeous!
I get rid of my uglies so I only have fabrics that sing to me ~
I love going through my stash to find beautiful fabric that I forgot I bought. If I see fabric I like while shopping I always buy 2 yards.
Recently I was looking for larger pieces in my stash to use for a mystery quilt class that I had signed up for and just touching and seeing some of the great prints made me want to pull other pieces for more projects.
It’s beautiful. I’m planning an African animal theme quilt for my daughter, and I haven’t found enough PRETTY fabrics…until now. I know, they’re not African, but with the animal skin prints I have, these fabrics will make a masterpiece.
I will go to my fabric room and just stand there looking through my fabric. I have quite a bit of fabric as I never buy less than 2 yards and usually buy at least 3 yards of whatever fabric I’m buying. I have a bedroom, a 12×12 building and half a large basement full of totes of fabrics. I can’t stand the thought of getting rid of any of it. Whenever any of my four daughters need fabric for something they always come to my house. They say they can always get what they are looking for here, why go anywhere else. Lol. Not to mention the notions. I LOVE ❤️ fabric.
I clean my sewing room and find a yummy fabric and that spurs me on from there.
I go digging around to unearth lost treasures. I always find something I forgot about and fall in love all over again.
To get back that loving feeling for my fabric stash, I start laying out the fabrics next to each other and imagining what projects I can make! <3
This fabric so beautiful!! Would love to win it! ❤️❤️ Thank you for the opportunity!
Going through my stash to clear out the fabrics that need new homes is when I often discover the ones I love (and may have forgotten)
I love to reorganize my stash. Lets me relive buying each piece and remembering it. Me, “Oh, I forgot I had that.”
Someone once told me, “there is no such thing as ugly fabric. You just didn’t cut it in small enough pieces. ” So, if I’ve fallen out of love with some items in my stash, I just cut them in smaller pieces to use in quilts.
Per advice from Freddy Moran a few years back, I sort and re-fold fabrics in my stash every 2-3 months to “rediscover” fabrics I loved and bought and put on a shelf. I’ve also been trying to sew the fabrics I fall in love with as soon as I buy them so that I don’t forget that I have them. These two things keep my fabric love affair alive!
I too love to sort my fabrics, but it doesn’t last long. Next time I pick fabrics for my next project, I have fabric all over the place.
I love elephants! I collect them. What a great collection of fabrics! To get the loving feeling back, I simply have to think about throwing or giving the fabric away. Then I love it again and don’t want to give it up.
I sort my stash or I shop 🙂 Also look at my stash of patterns on my PC or Pinterest. Doesn’t take long to find inspiration and away I go. Or I find Maddie online and fall in love with a new Elephant line – off to see where I can find Caravan!
Like many people, I fondle my stash!!
Usually doing a multi – coloured piece using my “not favourite” fabric will get me going again. I Have been making an effort of not thinking the words “ugly fabric” or “scrappy quilt”. Not “ugly” because beauty is subjective and not “scappy” as it infers that it was fabric not good and would be thrown away.
I take time away from all digital devices. Meditation, walks in fabric stores, and places with quilting patterns. Sometimes it os all about finding inspiration for the next quilt to make. The right inspiration can keep a gal going for quite some time with the goal of who the quilt is intended for.
I go through my scraps and put together a scrappy crew of strips and squares to make a new top. I love remembering how I used the fabric before…and how I can’t believe I still have some of this or THAT fabric…must have bought the bolt on sale!!
I pet it! 😉
I open the drawers, bags, bins, boxes, closets and cupboards of my fabric stash and gaze lovingly at the future projects that may never happen in my lifetime!
Love the elephants!!
I usually try and identify the color that drew me to the fabric in the first place. I was recently looking at length of fabric I bought at a Ben Franklin store in the 90’s. It’s the color combination of lilac and bright red that drew me to it in the first place. That was all I needed to fall in love with it again and down the rabbit hole of possibilities I went.
If I can’t find the love again I cut it up into squares for bubble quilts where it won’t be seen anyway. It’s sort of like pulling a bandaid off, make it quick and irreversible.
Just taking one piece of fabric out and then finding out that you have several others that can combine with it and go in so many different ways than you had originally thought. Endless possibilities unfold before your eyes! (Lol)
I look for patterns and inspiration on IG and Pinterest. Rearranging my stash also helps.
Cruze facebook, books, magazines. Find a pattern you might like and look at details of blocks. Think about how you could change it a little. Think about a fabric you have that might look good in the quilt, then go shopping in your stash. Even if you don’t want to make it, you are still getting your feet wet again. Repeat again next day.
When it’s time to start a new project I look at the fabrics that I already own and then fall in love all over again!
I guess I find a new pattern that excites me, buy one yard of great fabric and mix it with my old and I’m off to making something wonderful for someone.
I just start going through a few colors to inspire me or just go through it all until something hits me and says that’s it!
