I am refolding and stacking my fabric. It looks so pretty.
I usually am in search of a particular fabric or color of fabric and find fabrics that I had forgotten were in my stash. This will often inspire a new project.
I reorganize my fabric. When I fold & pet my fabric, it inspires me. Sometimes when I just can’t get inspired, I like to make something out of my comfort zone. Fabrics that I don’t love, but I know are going to be fabulous become quilts I never dreamed I’d make!
Beautiful fabric line! I have been trying to use my fabric stash. When I have a project, I go through what I have and buy what I need to complete it.
I invite my beasties over. They pooh and aaah over my fabric and recombine the colors and patterns. Then I can hardly wait to start a new project with my old fabric
The best way for me to “get back that lovin’ feelin'” is to spend some time lovingly reorganizing my stash. I’ll fondle old, forgotten beauties, find a fabulous new color combination, and be inspired! Have a wonderful day!
Oooh I love this one! It’s gorgeous. Whenever everything starts looking a little blah, I go shopping. I’m sure to find something pretty! Thank you
I pull out pieces of the stash, from here and there, unfold, fold. Mix them up, try different groupings… That usually sparks a design idea, or I see a pattern I like, and dig through the stash until I find things I like.
I go in and sort stuff out to give to a church, getting reacquainted & loving stuff.
I find a pattern that I like or want to make. Then I look through my fabric and usually end up making a scrappy quilt with the pattern. Scrappy is always a favorite!
I guess reorganizing everything is my method. Need to take my own advice now I guess!😂
I enjoy pulling out from the stash and looking for new combinations that make the fabric sing. Always brings a smile.
I think I have quilter ADD because when I start looking at all the different collections I have I get frustrated and want to give up so I know I have to just grab a collection or piece of fabric and decide what to do with it and forget about the rest for the time being, works every time.
I like to pull it out, touch and feel it, and reorganize it. A lot of it brings back memories.
For me it is finding a “certain” pattern and then I’m in my stash looking for the perfect combination of fabrics. Of course I’m usually short a piece or two and that means a trip to the fabric store.
I wait for a pattern to grab me, I guess. Am I disqualified if I’m not on Facebook?
I have some fabric in my stash that this would be fabulous with! And so many ideas come to mind for projects to create – endless possibilities!
Not on Facebook so I am not eligible to win but I will put in my two cents anyway. I find that shopping my stash is a great way to be newly inspired by fabric. Breaking up those precious, hoarded bundles and mixing up different fabric lines and styles can breathe new life into fabric I have seen many times or have not figured out what to do with. As an added bonus, it is a sure cure for the “What was I thinking?” or Why on earth did I buy that?” blues.
I just open a fabric bin and the muse finds me…
The way I fall back in love with my fabric stash is to look there first when starting a new quilt. I find that if I use what I have to build upon for the new quilt I save money and use fabric I bought because I loved – a still do!!!
When I find a fabric I really love, I look for projects done with it. Once I see a pic of something I really like, I search for the pattern, or one similar. Add my own fabrics as able and go…. Sometimes I am lucky and they all present together!
Bright batiks are just so eye catching. It makes me want to make every pattern I see. What a dilema???
I take a break from quilting/piecing/what have you. It’s enough, after a few days, to restore my interest and I’m right back at it.
My stash is separated by color. Large yardage are on bolts I get from the fabric store. I haven’t sorted my seasonal fabric yet.
I honestly don’t think I never lost that feeling. I just ‘lose’ the time to deal with all the thoughts & inspiration. What I dislike is having some time to sew & I choose to work on some silly project cuz the fabric is just calling for some attention….and it is not the star of the class in any way shape or form. It just needs some love.
I like to reorganize my fabrics for inspiration. Taking it down, feeling it, refolding it makes me love it again. It’s like looking at pictures of past friends, I get all warm and fuzzy.
