Good luck everyone. This is really great
I quilt my own quilts. I’d better quilt my own; I have an Innova!
I quilt everything on my domestic. I love learning by watching and then trying it out for myself. Looks like a great video class.
Awesome!
I quilt everything on my domestic.
I quilt my own. I have a long arm, but I only use it for bigger projects. I usually just use my domestic. I’ve never had a quilt quilted by someone else.
Love Paula’s instructional technique! She is such a great teacher and explains so clearly.
I quilt them myself and until recently when I got a Singer with a whopping 6.5″ throat I quilted everything on my Brother cs6000i which has a 5.5″ throat. I capped myself at queen size because it was so hard to even do that. Perhaps this will make it clearer how to manage the magic trick of a queen or kind size on a machine that doesn’t cost more than my car.
I am not so far a prolific quilt maker but when I did use precut pack, I still needed yardage. I made one just with a jelly roll. The top is in a box unfinished because I don’t like it.
I’m getting more yardage, b/c my LQS’s don’t carry many precuts at all.
Mostly yardage, but I have been known to indulge in a few pre-cuts especially if I know right what they will get used for!
Precursor, so someday I can sit & crank out a quilt without planning
Precuts
I find myself being braver and trying to use precuts for projects made for them…..and seeing if they do help me on short deadlines, etc.
As i get older i fancy the precuts.
Then i have a less ominous starting point..unless the fabric “speaks to me”.
I normally buy yardage. But I’ve been known to pick up a cute charm pack from time to time!
Yardage more than precuts.
Love love the fabric! It is so cheerful and happy.
I love charm packs! No one can have too many!
mostly yardage, but love to have precuts on hand for quick projects.
I am definitely a pre-cut girl. You can thank Jenny Doan for that! They are easy to store and use.
I still buy more yardage, but I do very much enjoy charm packs.
I usually buy yardage, but do have a few precuts
cute for spring baby quilt or Easter maybe? As a beginner quilter, I like precuts. I know buying yardage is cheaper in the long run but sometimes its overwhelming picking coordinating colors & making sure cut correctly. With precuts, you can jump right in!
Based on my recently inherited stash of fabric (including many quilts in progress) I now own more yardage than pre-cut. I am more drawn toward pre-cuts due to my fear of cutting fabric. (yes, even at 60 yrs one can still be toting much Mother/daughter baggage – much of mine is entangled with all things sewing)
I mostly buy yardage, but I’ve been known to get a jelly roll or two.
I do buy precuts sometimes. That charm pack would be cute in a baby quilt. Love the colors.
When I buy precuts I usually buy a couple of yards of line to have for borders, sashing or backing. It’s amazing how many quilts you can get out of a fat quarter bundle!
It depends on what it is I’m buying. If I love a whole line I might do some fat Quarter bundles. If I like only select fabrics from a line I get just those ones in yardage. If it’s solids I always buy yardage.
Yes, I am buying more precuts. The color selections are already put together for me.
These look like lovely patterns!!
Villa Rosa patterns are great! I did the quilting on one for my LQS a couple of years ago. They still have it on display, and since then, I have quilted 7 more EXACTLY the same way! Gotta love it.
Oh yes, I’ve done a couple of their patterns. I like how they are straight forward!
haven’t tried these patterns yet – look fun!
Everytime I go to a quilt shop m I buy at least 2 of these!! I love them!!
12! Oh My GOODNESS! I love seeing different ideas. Thanks And Happy Birthday day 5
Those look amazing!
I’ve never tried Villa Rosa patterns but they look lovely!
I have several Villa Rosa Patterns. I love them so much. They’re been great for teaching my mom to quilt because they are pretty simple.
I’ve not used Villa Rosa patterns before. It looks like they would be great to use up scraps.
Thank you for introducing us to so many new to me products.
I love patters that use up small pieces. Will have to search them out.
Have made a couple, great when you need a quick pattern.
I love the “melody” pattern on the top! I see my stash getting used up with that one! More patterns for that purpose and all other purposes needed!
Oh my GOSH!!! I absolutely L?VE Villa Rose patterns!! They are sooooooo fun!!! What an AWESOME ? Giveaway??????
I’ve done a few of these patterns. They’re great.
I just saw a basket of these this past weekend at a LQS.
I live Villa Rosa patterns! The quilt shops all gave them out one year for Quilt Across Texas shop hop.
I’ve bought Villa Rosa patterns before, but I’ve not used one yet.
WOW!! Those are cool! Can always use more patterns
Yeah more patterns!!!
I haven’t used the Villa Rosa patterns–would love to try them!
