Saturday we say goodbye to SPOOL – the physical store (do look for another week online very soon, at KICK ASS PRICES!) and we thought it would be fun to giveaway some fabric as a way of saying thank you for all of your support over the last three years.
We are so very excited about the expanded direction we will be taking BAQS and we will have more on that later. For now, just know that there is some really cool stuff coming including weekly giveaways, livecasts, video interviews with the people you want to know and more. Until then… let’s have some fun and give away two boxes stuffed with fabric!
One box is filled with amazing “SPOOL- Style” Â batiks… bright, colorful, embodying everything SPOOL was about.
The other is filled with a variety of quilting cottons that I am sure will make you smile for days after opening it.
Each box is 15 yards of fabric plus some fun BAQS swag!

Those miscellaneous quilting cottons will have a lovely, comfortable home in my sewing room. They will be sad to be away from Spool just like I feel. But we’ll soldier on–making new quilted lovelies.

My heart flutters for the batiks! They both soothe and invigorate me. I was excited to see you mention BAQS organizing quilting retreats. I would love the opportunity to travel, meet other quilters, and learn new techniques. And Maddie is always a gracious hostess.

Love them both, but chances are I’d for sure use the ones on the right. I had always hoped to get to your store someday, but never made it. I love the work you do with the BAQS, keep preaching inclusiveness, something we need now, more than ever. I guess that’s what I’d like to see, the labels gone and everyone quilting together. I would also like to add that your row by row was the absolute, hands down best I saw this year, I wanted to order the kits in November, but oh well! All the best Maddie!

The cotton fabrics made my heart race. I would make a farm quilt with chickens and a tractor. I would like BAQS to make more rock quilts -Queen should be next.

I love that Bad Ass stands up for freedom of everything artistic. There does not have to be a type of creating quilts, no judgements all are accepted and allowed to be. Thank you for your sassy style and awsome bad ass society. Looking forward to the future. Love the quilt fabrics!

Bye Nye Spool. You have been good to Maddie!! Now the BA Society has her back fulltime. Can’t wait to see what the future brings for Maddie and Flaun. Will definitely come to a BA class, retreat, etc.

Bright, bold, batik! For years I bought batiks but didn’t cut into them. Made lots of Civil War style quilt in lovely soft colors. Made a vow to myself the first of the year. Bright & bold was all I’d do. WHY did I wait? This is so much fun!

I love the batiks!!! I would love to see BAQS do online workshops. I love learning and seeing others work and how they interpret the same concept very differently. Maybe a mini quilt swap among BAQS members
