Saturday we say goodbye to SPOOL – the physical store (do look for another week online very soon, at KICK ASS PRICES!) and we thought it would be fun to giveaway some fabric as a way of saying thank you for all of your support over the last three years.
We are so very excited about the expanded direction we will be taking BAQS and we will have more on that later. For now, just know that there is some really cool stuff coming including weekly giveaways, livecasts, video interviews with the people you want to know and more. Until then… let’s have some fun and give away two boxes stuffed with fabric!
One box is filled with amazing “SPOOL- Style” Â batiks… bright, colorful, embodying everything SPOOL was about.
The other is filled with a variety of quilting cottons that I am sure will make you smile for days after opening it.
Each box is 15 yards of fabric plus some fun BAQS swag!

They are both beautiful, hard choice, I think I’d choose the cottons. Though I never made it to Spool I do love BAQS and everything it stands for. Keep posting and supporting quilters and sewists who are bad ass!

I love brights as they make me happy especially on wet and gray days! Sorry the brick and mortar store is closing as I enjoyed visiting last year, but, glad you’ll still have an on-line presence! Great luck in your future adventures in quilting!

I love the Spool style fabrics but either would help build my fabric collection since I’m still a newbie to sewing. I only visited the store this past Saturday and it breaks my heart that I won’t be able to visit it again after this weekend. The help I received in picking the fabric for my first quilt project was enjoyable and memorable due to the fabulous ladies at Spool. I’d love some quilting classes or social hours where we can gather to work on project or get advice from BAQS!

This is a tough one…I have never seen too many fabrics that I didn’t like, but I think I would go with the Spool funky fabrics.

You just never know what will pop up from BAQS. You keep us living on the edge! Batiks are my babies, but I have a soft spot for lovely, softer prints, too. Sad that your physical shop will close but excited to learn what will come next!

I’m loving the quilting cottons- who doesn’t love the thought of something to make them smile! I discovered Spool a bit too late to plan a road trip to enjoy the shop live, unfortunately. Yet, I love the girl power behind the scenes, working hard to advance the arts. You see shops close because of financial reasons…. letting go of Spool is a brave choice that is allowing room for even greater goods! Best wishes!

I have been following you for a short time and love your whole outlook on the quilting world. It seems like we as quilters are struggling for inspiration for new things and I think your creativity will shine through when you leave behind the stress that comes with having a store. I’m looking forward to this new chapter. The batiks make my heart sing!
