Saturday we say goodbye to SPOOL – the physical store (do look for another week online very soon, at KICK ASS PRICES!) and we thought it would be fun to giveaway some fabric as a way of saying thank you for all of your support over the last three years.
We are so very excited about the expanded direction we will be taking BAQS and we will have more on that later. For now, just know that there is some really cool stuff coming including weekly giveaways, livecasts, video interviews with the people you want to know and more. Until then… let’s have some fun and give away two boxes stuffed with fabric!
One box is filled with amazing “SPOOL- Style” batiks… bright, colorful, embodying everything SPOOL was about.
The other is filled with a variety of quilting cottons that I am sure will make you smile for days after opening it.
Each box is 15 yards of fabric plus some fun BAQS swag!

Which box of fabric I like better? On the left, I’m sure my heart stopped for a moment at the sight of the bicycles and travel fabrics! I love the colors and might, just might, think about some bright, fun pillows for a cute little 5 year old princess-granddaughter! I can’t wait to see what’s next for BAQS!

I love the batiks and I am sorry to see Spool go. I got to visit last year and came home with quite a collection of Bad Ads skull fabrics that are making there way into my quilts. Good luck in the next chapter of your business venture.

I love your fabric choices. I visited your store with a couple of my quilty friends a month or so ago. It was a very nice shop. I purchased the shark circle pattern. I haven’t started it yet so the fabric that would look best for that pattern I would love. Sorry you are closing but interested to see what’s next.

Love the batiks! The prints are way outside my comfort zone and that is what I hope BAQS will continue to do. Make me think outside my comfort zone. Challenge all of us to accept our differences as we are all part of the big quilting community we are all a part of. Please continue to inspire us, encourage us to explore our creative selves and to go through each day asking “where’s the penis?” Not to make sure there isn’t one but so we aren’t afraid to add one. Ever since I saw how Batiks were made in the Bahamas, I have loved them. I love adding them as a border that ties all the colors of the quilt together. Some of them are like scrapbook paper and make wonderful backrounds for appliques. I agree with another commenter that I would love to see online video how toos. You do a great job with the Facebook LIve too!

I absolutely LOVE the Batiks! Since my Grandmother is no longer around to ask, I appreciated being able to ask beginner questions in the store without feeling uncomfortable. Spool filled in the blanks and I learned a lot! Plus, the lovely Bad Ass ladies made ‘quilting’… ‘Cool’. ❤️ Sad to see the store go when I’m just getting started, but I wish you all the best in your new endeavors. Can’t wait to see what planned…I’m thinking beginners retreat?

I’ve honestly never been a fan of batiks. The flowers are gorgeous though! I haven’t bought new fabric in months, trying to use up my old stash. Would love to have something new for a baby quilt for my boss, who’s wife is giving birth right now!!
