Saturday we say goodbye to SPOOL – the physical store (do look for another week online very soon, at KICK ASS PRICES!) and we thought it would be fun to giveaway some fabric as a way of saying thank you for all of your support over the last three years.
We are so very excited about the expanded direction we will be taking BAQS and we will have more on that later. For now, just know that there is some really cool stuff coming including weekly giveaways, livecasts, video interviews with the people you want to know and more. Until then… let’s have some fun and give away two boxes stuffed with fabric!
One box is filled with amazing “SPOOL- Style” batiks… bright, colorful, embodying everything SPOOL was about.
The other is filled with a variety of quilting cottons that I am sure will make you smile for days after opening it.
Each box is 15 yards of fabric plus some fun BAQS swag!

Truly both boxes get my ticker beating faster but hey we are quilters and fabric does that to us. I am saddened that the store is closing for a couple of reason, 1) I never had the pleasure of getting your way to visit, and 2) Because another LQS is closing. I wish you the best in where you are going with BAQS and I would love to see tutorials from you, reviews on items we might not really want to purchase without seeing how they work and what about traveling shows or a retreat.
In the end I am sure I speak for many of us We only wish you the Best and Thank you for all you have done.

I really wanted to visit your shop but sadly that was not going to happen, I was hoping to get there in mid October but you are now closed. So sorry to have missed that. I am relatively new to quilting and have not worked with batiks yet, so the gorgeous batik bundle would be a great way to start! However, the traditional quilting cottons are gorgeous, definitely my “jam”, and I certainly would not kick that bundle out of my sewing room!
As for BAQS, I would love some BadAss tutorials. The one Flaun did recently on Quilt-As-You-Go was awesome! While I have stuck to piecing so far and not ventured into the actual quilting yet, your videos explaining the quilting of your latest Cori Dantini quilt were great.
I am relatively new to quilting and have not worked with batiks yet, so the gorgeous batik bundle would be a great way to start! However, the traditional quilting cottons are gorgeous, definitely my “jam”, and I certainly would not kick that bundle out of my sewing room!

The one on the right- batiks! It’s fun and bright and spunky- just like spool. I loved your attitude and the “break the old rules” challenges. I love your all out enthusiasm for challenges and art!

I would definitely choose the batiks. I just finished three batik quilts in a row and my stash of batiks is running very low. I would love to see you do retreats with fun projects and challenges. So sad you are closing, but I wish you the best in your new endevors.
