Saturday we say goodbye to SPOOL – the physical store (do look for another week online very soon, at KICK ASS PRICES!) and we thought it would be fun to giveaway some fabric as a way of saying thank you for all of your support over the last three years.
We are so very excited about the expanded direction we will be taking BAQS and we will have more on that later. For now, just know that there is some really cool stuff coming including weekly giveaways, livecasts, video interviews with the people you want to know and more. Until then… let’s have some fun and give away two boxes stuffed with fabric!
One box is filled with amazing “SPOOL- Style” Â batiks… bright, colorful, embodying everything SPOOL was about.
The other is filled with a variety of quilting cottons that I am sure will make you smile for days after opening it.
Each box is 15 yards of fabric plus some fun BAQS swag!
Leave a comment  letting us know which box makes your heart beat faster and tell us what YOU would like to see BAQS doing… I want to come visit you and party!
We will draw for the winner on SUNDAY the 16th! Â Â Comments are now closed … winners were picked and notified! Â Watch for our next giveaway very soon!!

I’m partial to batiks, but I’m a serious fabriholic, so I’d be happy with either.
I’m hoping BAQS goes more into education. Like AQS on steroids. Retreats, classes, all that kinda fun stuff.
Thanks for the chance to win.

I have retired & renewed my love of quilting. I am in Boise, Idaho & a friend in Wasilla, Alaska directed me to your site. I popped in when the penis thing was going on and loved your openness. Being an old hippy from Haight Asbury I would love to win the batiks.
Please keep video casting on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, I love your presences. Can you do demos on line also?

I really like the Batiks. I have yet to do anything with batiks and I think it’d be fun!!! I’m excited to see what you have planned for your next step!!! A lot of people pick on me for being “too young” to quilt and I think “ha! I’m a BAQ!!!”

Love the quilting cottons! Can’t wait to see what’s next…a magazine perhaps??

Definitely the box on the left! So sorry to see you go. Whenever we visited our son at UTC we stopped by Spool. I am anxious to see what you do next. Your fabric was awesome.

I love batiks but I have to go with the other box. Its always good to expand your horizons and I never saw a fabric in Spool I didn’t like! I’m looking forward to participating in retreats with the BAQS!

The batiks put me in an island swing swag mood. But the others could put a swing in my step too!

Definitely, the spool style BAtiks! I would love to see you do a tour lecturing on the BAQS way. Certainly any local shop that would have you would be worthy of the BAQS followers’ $. Plus that would help spread the word to the quilt police to lighten up. xF0x9Fx98x89

I just found you guys, and now you are going a different way. But from what I have seen so far, you are still going to be rocking the quilting world. Today I bought some layer cake repo’s, and since it’s not a look I usually go for, I think I would like the batiks. I have never quilted with them, so that would be different.

Thank you Maddie & Flaun for giving all kinds of people doing all kinds of things a chance to do them!! I appreciate your orders for Spool of Red Bandana Lights and it was lovely to get to know you on the interwebs! Would love to see retreats and challenges from BAQS and the same loving exhurberance you’ve always shared on Facebook. Meet you for a drink and a laugh at the Speakeasy! The boxes of lovelies are amazing – the left one though….with the hot pink ravens in the back…that one needs to fly home to me!! Thanks again for everything – cannot wait to see what’s next for you!!

The batiks make my heart beat fast, but the everyday cottons speak to me too if you are overrun with requests for the batiks. I’d love to see more show and tell, others with your mindset do live fb time, more Q & A. I love that you are so down to earth. That’s the biggest draw for me and that you don’t clean up your language. That’s the bomb!!! Stay true.

I hope to see more challenges and maybe even some of your own patterns. Gotta love the batiks though.

I like the one on the left. I’m hoping for more videos from you, possibly news in the world of quilting.

I love both fabric groupings! The cotton prints would be great additions to my La Passacaglia quilt, but the batiks vibrant colors speak to my heart. I am so sad that I was never able to shop at Spool in person. The one time I was in Chattanooga, it was a Monday, and the shop was closed. However you move forward, I hope that you will still encourage quilters to move out of the box with their quilt expressions in true BadAss fashion,

The fabric on the left makes my heart jump with joy. Love all the prints and the bicycles make me smile. I can’t give you any suggestions on what I would like to see in the future but I know what ever you decide will be fun for all of us.

I like the variety box. I love to quilt and read about others who share my hobby. I’d love more fabric to make beautiful things with!

Totally batiks! But I wouldn’t throw the cottons out of bed for eating crackers, either. 😀 So sorry to see Spool go – I was just getting to know her! I’ll keep eyeballing BAQS for future fun, though! xoxo

I still love batiks. I’m hoping BAQS is sorta like ravelry is for quilters. An empowering thing. It would be awesome if you could have live group conversations. In text, not sound.
I’ve enjoyed your internet presence as Spool, and I enjoy the bundle of Little Black dress I bought a few years ago. I used it all up making some sorta log cabin blocks, then bought more, to make more blocks and it’s going to be a giant quilt.
Anyway, you’ve also taught me a lot about the need to not have to put people in boxes that define them.
I have never been to spool, because I haven’t been to Chattanooga, so my experience of you and yours will probably be even better! Can’t wait to see what you do next!
