Saturday we say goodbye to SPOOL – the physical store (do look for another week online very soon, at KICK ASS PRICES!) and we thought it would be fun to giveaway some fabric as a way of saying thank you for all of your support over the last three years.
We are so very excited about the expanded direction we will be taking BAQS and we will have more on that later. For now, just know that there is some really cool stuff coming including weekly giveaways, livecasts, video interviews with the people you want to know and more. Until then… let’s have some fun and give away two boxes stuffed with fabric!
One box is filled with amazing “SPOOL- Style” Â batiks… bright, colorful, embodying everything SPOOL was about.
The other is filled with a variety of quilting cottons that I am sure will make you smile for days after opening it.
Each box is 15 yards of fabric plus some fun BAQS swag!

I. Is tied once on my way back from Paducah going home to Florida. Wonderful store & will always love cottons! I think BAQ should spread the love and ‘ no rules’ in quilting. It’s time for a new movement!

I only got to visit the store once, but I fell in love with it and was hoping for another trip to Chattanooga so I could visit again. Tonight the batiks are speaking to me, but who knows? Tomorrow is another day…

Well, shoot! I’ve only just found you a month ago and now Spool is closing. Wish you much success on the new turn. As for which one makes my heart flutter…BOTH! I mean, I am a fabriholic hoarder after all.

It’s almost like picking your favorite child (you know which one it is, but you try not to let on). Ok, it’s the Batiks! But I wouldn’t throw the other ones out either. 🙂 Hmm, could you run for President? It’d be good. We could have a big sew in; the secret service guys could help out in which ever way we’d like. They have a great chef there who would make everyone whatever they wanted; I know they must have a kick ass bartender. Yup, you should run for President – you’d win!

I’m sad that I will not be able to ever visit SPOOL, but will proudly remain a Bad Ass Quilter. I can wait to see what you will be up to next. Both bundles are gorgeous but the quilters cottons are the ones that I would love to cut into.

That’s a tough one Maddie! The modern is delightful, but in the end, I’m an alto: deep, dark and rich, so the box on the right is the one for me! I love BAQS for giving a forum to quilters who like to take chances and push the boundaries.

I love both, but the batiks get my creative juices flowing!! I am new to quilting and would love all the help I can get, so I would love to see BAQ with lots of tutorials and teach me all the good tips and tricks! Thanks!

I love the box on the left. It makes my heat pitter patter. I would love to see quilting being taught to the younger generation so they learn the pleasure of doing something with their hands and putting down the phone!!!

I loved Spool. I got a chance to visit once and we had a ball and lightened our pocketbooks. Good luck Maddie!
