Happy Fri-ya my people! Like many I spend a lot of moments these days asking “what day is it?” and sometimes for fun I lay in bed in the morning and try to figure out what day it is without help of my iphone. I tell you it is SHOCKING how often I just don’t know or am just WRONG!
Without the typical benchmarks for my weeks let alone my months and dare i say it year things are becoming a little blurry so it is always fun to have something to look forward to!
In my week there are two things and they both happen today!
First, for my Podcasting / true crime / sewing/ crafty folk out there a new episode of Bones and Bobbins drops today! This gem of a podcast is hosted by Haley Pierson Cox and Natali Heuss and well worth your time if you like a bit of creepy with your crepe, blood with your batik, murder with your muslin… ok.. I will stop you get it and I think you will really love it! I know I listen to podcasts and e-book pretty much non-stop in my sewing room and if you do too make sure to read to the VERY bottom for today’s perfect way to listen to those podcasts! ( Hint, it is a giveaway!)
Next, for something binge-worthy and that will give you plenty of time to knit that new sweater or hand bind that king size quilt, the Umbrella Academy season 2 drops today on Netflix! Also weird, with over-tones of crazy and dysfunctional it is just the thing to dive into when you need to let your mind take a small break from the utter shit-show that surrounds us these days. {waves hands wildly in the air to indicate SO MUCH SHIT}.
Honestly without good friends and tight community this all might just be unbearable so one more shameless plug before the doors close.
Today is the last day for 2020 to join the private BadAss Quilters Community, ( BAQC) click the image to learn more. – short and sweet.
Ok, so how about a giveaway to mark yet another week done here in COVID time? Like I said I am ALL ABOUT the podcast and listening while I am working on mundane projects or working with my hands is just my thing. The kick is keeping my phone charged and listening so I am super excited to be giving away our very own BADASS QULTER Big Sounds Mini Speaker/Phone charger! So sure, you can go old school and amplify your phone by tucking it in a coffee mug this option means you will never again give your phone an accidental coffee baptism!.. but maybe that is only me!
Want to win? Leave a comment HERE ON THIS POST about your favorite podcast or binge-worthy tv series! We will pick a winner on Sunday and announce it over on the FB page!
P.s. BAQC folks?.. you not only get to enter this giveaway but have not one but THREE speakers to give away over there so make sure to check that out today!

I am starting Michelle Obama’s podcast series.
Over the last few years I’ve binged through Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Supernatural, all of the CW Arrowverse shows, Prodigal Son, and most recently SWAT, all while sewing. And my hubby and I just finished Hunters. Now I’m working my way through Star Trek Discovery. I’ll have to check out this podcast, obviously I’m not opposed to a little gore 🙂
I love Forensic Files and First 48.
Yellowstone, New Amsterdam,
I’m more old school for tv show binging but I’m starting to watch some of the newer shows like Schitts Creek and investigating some others.
Binging Justified while I make cute baby gifts for a friend who had her smidge a few days ago. In my family baby gifts are given after birth, not at the prebirth showers that usually happen .
I really enjoy the Brene Brown podcast. She usually has really interesting guests and I always learn something new. She has got her shit together!
I binge watch series but get so upset when the series ends: Longmire, Frankie and Grace, Yellowstone…
Well, Blacklist, Last Kingdom, Warrior Nun,The Order,TheCrown,Outlander but I read all the books first. Not many podcasts as I usually read versus listen.
In the Dark is a series we have been binging on Netflix. So far 2 seasons have been posted.
We aren’t so much bingers as we are hoarders! We carefully dole out our streaming favs, one per evening. We have finished endless murder mysteries from the UK, (how on earth is there anyone left alive in those pastoral rural villages?!) The Chef Show, and for something totally different, The Midnight Diner, with captioning. <3
I started the shutdown back in mid-March by binging on the Miss Fisher Mystery series. Bad-ass female private detective in 1920s Melbourne, Australia. Not as much sex in the tv show as there is in the books. 😉 Then I ponied up for a paid subscription to Acorn TV just so I could watch her movie.
Oh, I’m a Blacklist, Killing Eve, and Last Kingdom fan. Love these giveaways—they really keep up our spirits!
I like to listen to the podcast Behind the Seams by the ladies at C&T Publishing.
I loved Longmire and Ozark. Right now I’m loving Broadchurch. I listen to the news while working on Sirius. I also loved the Crown and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Pose.
The Umbrella Academy season 2 is what I’ve been waiting for! But as for podcasts it is Jim Kwik and Christy Wright. Jim is memory and learning tricks and tips. And Christy Wright is Business Boutique, small business and start up business advice.
Acorn TV – love those British shows.
Lately it’s The Heart Guy, Agatha Raisin, and Murdock Mysteries. And always Miss Fisher!
I’ve been revisiting “The Women’s Murder Club” by James Patterson.
A very favorite to binge is Dexter. Goodness, but I miss that show!
I just finished binge watching The Cursed on Netflix. Different retake on the King Arthur and Merlin story. Highly recommend!
Moving this. Week and will have all new sewing room. That would be so neat
I’ve been binging on Ozark recently. But I also decided to listen to all the Sue Grafton books while I sew. They are about a private investigator and there are 20ish books. A is for alibi, b is for burglar and so on.
I am binging Lucifer on Netflix. I have just started listening to podcasts so excited to listen to Bones and bobbins!
Schitt’s Creek has been my favorite binge during all this craziness
We recently finished Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Loved it. My favorite podcast is The History Chicks. Thorough research and interesting info about women in history. I never miss it.
Podcasts are the best for sewing sessions! My Favorite Murder, The Throughline and Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me are all great companions
I am loving Lenox Hill because I am a healthcare worker but also have had a friend and a relative die of Gioblastima which is a tumor of the brain. Thes doctors work tirelessly to help find a way to give their pts more time on this earth or even a cure. When you watch a doctor weeping over the loss of a patient, you know they are involved to the point that this person becomes like a family member.
I’m a fairly new podcast listener, Dolly Parton’s America is great. I also like Sawbones and The Confessional with Nadia Boltz Weber.
Oh my! We binge watched Ozark! Oh my goodness what a 🤬show. Also Broadchurch!
Thanks for the chance!!
Currently binging on Forensic Files while I piece. Does it make my family just a teensy bit nervous? Surely not…
My binge tv is great British baking show. Podcast on npr Ask me another
I binge watched ‘Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries’ on Netflix and I love ‘Homicide Hunter’ on ID network. No new episodes this year 🙁 . “My, my, my……”
Favorite binges – Outlander, The Crown and Lucifer.
I love the unfolding podcast. Very uplifting. As far as tv. Hgtv is usually on in the sewing room.
BritBox. Midsomer Murders, Vera, Shetland, anything mystery. I don’t like reading them but I have really been enjoying watching them.
Ohhhhh I was not aware of the Umbrella Academy!! That is going on my binge list RIGHT NOW!! We just finished After Life on Netflix and loved it! Longmire was another great series on Netflix that was so good I might watch it again! Thanks for posting these!! I will check out the Podcast tonight!
I love listening to the Unfolding podcast. Very uplifting. As far as tv shoes it’s pretty much hgtv on in the sewing room!
Cowboy Way Alabama
I love Supernatural, Baby and the boys are the best eye candy. I have to admit I have never done any podcasts but would love to.
I have been binge watching Poldark and hand quilting in the evening… next shows Cransford . At my sewing machine I have 9 inch dvd player so I will watch myold movies.
Right now I’m binging on the Outlander series. And my fave podcasts are the Moth and the Confessional.
