I admit that I did not watch the Super Bowl, in fact I napped which I considered a much better use of my time but after I got up my feed was FLOODED with both women and men shaming the hell out of the two women who put on the half-time show.
Phrases like “hooch-show” and “slut parade” and “sex-show” were tossed around as well as commentary on nationality, skin color and lack of “American theme”, “lack of family content”.
Of course this means I was forced to take to the YouTube and see what really happened.
Fifteen minutes later it seems clear that the innate strength of women that totally includes their sexuality scares the holy shit out of some men and enrages weaker women.
When we continue to attach shame to women’s bodies and their sexuality we will never be free from oppression.
When we continue to accept the shame that those we intimidate try to throw in our direction we will never be free.
From the view of a breast of a nursing mother to two strong, talented, sexy women strutting their stuff, women live with the constant message that their bodies are shameful unless used exactly how and when the patriarchy approves.
I for one am having none of that shit they are serving for myself or on behalf of other women to dare to channel their core strengths in any form they choose.

I read!
I was disappointed that the men in the half-time show weren’t similarly dressed, 😉
You tell them, girl!!
Spot on!
I had to pull it up to see what all the Hoopla was about. And it wasn’t exactly PG commercial…. But P&G does have the bear drying its HINNEY in it too….Not like Janet Jackson Costume malfunction…..
I couldn’t have done that at age 50 like JLo did… It does take a lot of ab strength to do all of those dances… Which I also don’t have to that degree…….
Adam Lavine rips his shirt off, no one talks about that being inappropriate.
Justin Timberlake causes a wardrobe malfunction, but, only Janet Jackson suffers criticism and employment consequences.
Our society is dominated misogynists.
Until more women believe, celebrate and respect other women’s choices, we will continue to live in a society dominated by toxic masculinity.
Excellent comments. Lead the way, Women!
