<walks up to the mic… tap tap tap, “is this thing on”? Is anybody out there?>
I can’t tell you how how long I have stared at this page and tried to decide where to start… A humorous story about getting lost on the way to a quilt store? An epic tale about life’s surprising twists and turns that lead to me not visiting with you all for the better part of nearly two years… ( can that be right?)…wow! But in the end I will say.. I have missed you. I have missed your spirit and your moxie, your passion for your families, your quilting and your friends.
I will say that I have not changed one damn bit in the ways that count. I am still a Southern, liberal, sex-positive, shitty typist, outspoken, pro-choice, gay-loving, grandmother who loves sewing and all things domestic and who uses the word “fuck” as both a verb and a noun and sometimes in the same sentence.
I am plagued by autoimmune issues including diabetes and am now the proud owner of an insulin pump as the new best friend in my pocket.
I am a passionate advocate for kittens and a devoted foster to neo-natals who don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell without me or someone like me to care for them. I share photos of them on Instagram. And have goals to organize a regional cat event in Chattanooga focused of Art, advocacy and adoption – meow!
I am deep in the middle of a whole house renovation which I am doing with my own two hands. I have not had a real chance to sew in almost a year now and I miss it like crazy and will be celebrating the finish of the house with a new sewing machine sometime is mid 2019.
Nadia Bloz Weber, Dita Von Teese and Ina Garten all rock my world.. I am complex that way
I am excessively tired of the shit-show that is today’s political scene. To make is clear I would give Ruth Bader Ginsburg both my kidneys if it came down to that so I am not inclined to tone it down or stick just to sewing and quilting and I will be living in my truth around here.
To everyone else… thanks for sticking around. Let’s see what BadAss things happen next!
p.s. Yes I cut off all my hair, yes I am growing in back out, please excuse it for the next 3 years.

Welcome back, although I know you never really left. I love the hair! And all the rest. Good luck with the kittens and the new “old” house. I also live in an old house so the projects never end.
Will look forward to you next post, when you get the chance. In the meantime, carry on with your Badass self!
