First off thank you to all the companies that have taken part in the this year’s Round-Up. We are already taking applications for the Spring Round-Up so if you have developed or represent a product that you would like to see featured please drop me a line and I will get you information!
To all of you who have read, watched and left comments.. thank you as well for being part of our community! With near 22 thousand members we hope to represent a quilting demographic that can often seem underserved. We will always stand on the side of love, progressive action and BadAss inspiration no matter quilting, sewing or social issues.

I really love nothing more than when I get to share products developed by those I know in the industry. Today I am tickled that I can share with your the Shortcut Binding Tool from my friends at The Quilting Squares Quilt Shop in Franklin TN. Their brand identity is as the Franklin Quilt Company
Kay and Kathy are dynamic quilters spending their time bringing the joy of quilting to both local and national customers with not only their store, but their patterns and tools as well.
If you have ever wanted to create a quilt binding with a sharp looking flange this tool is going to be your new best notion!! Quilts with a binding flange have that extra little pop that makes them special and this tool makes it easy! One of our FOUR lucky winners will be getting on in their prize box!

Are you a stripper?…… some people are just crazy about the2.5 inch strips of fabric that come from rolls of fabric and collect them like candy! Well after a while you have to use up a bit of candy in order to buy more so that is where the people at Cozy Quilt Design and their Strip Tube Ruler and patterns come in!
Their StripTube Ruler in two sizes and make half square triangles a breeze by combining brilliant engineering with “the tube technique.” It’s perfect to use with strips and even includes directions to make our favorite block from 2½” strips:
The great people at Cozy Quilt Designs have patterns and rulers for 2 of our winners!!.. make sure to check out our live casts of FB this week to see more about the patterns and books included in the prize packages!

Sometimes lefties get left-out in the quilting world so it is nice to see a company who includes instructions for those who are both Left and Right Handed when it comes to using their products.
Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 Design Corner Pop Ruler helps all quilters gain incredible accuracy when it comes to patterns calling for traditional folded corners in up to 22 sizes! I don’t know about you, but accuracy is not my strongest suit so this is where really cool rulers like this make ALL the difference! One lucky winner is going to be making some spot-on corners very soon!
All right guys…. this was the final post of these series… did you appreciate this month of notions? Would you like to see even more new notions in the Spring? If so please leave a comment about what BAQS means to you and what part we play in your quilting life. We pick our winner on Friday.. so good luck to everyone… and may the sewing-force be with you!

Love the Quilting Squates! Notions, videos, and round-up…big hit!!!
Loved the notions information. Love the Cozy ruler, I know the folks there and it was fun to see them featured.
Thanks for all you do Maddie! You are a beautiful soul!
Thanks for sharing these tools and videos. Very informative. Thank you! Hope you continue the series in the spring.
Thank you for this gift of discovery ! I was off the grid at Quilt retreat this weekend and this was a great little post to come home to!
I own the Strip Tube Ruler. I never heard of the Shortcut Binding Tool or the Corner Pop Ruler and after watching the videos, I put them on my list of things to buy and my Christmas/birthday/everything list. Thank you for posting the notions videos and I hope you continue them in the Spring. BAQS is a place to learn, whether you are a new or a seasoned quilter. Maddie I love watching your videos. You are so easy to listen to and have a fun personality.
Video is great and love all the tools.. thank you
The videos are great. I especially like the corner pop ruler.
I think I love tools more than fabric. I haven’t seen the videos–I’ll go look for them. Your blog posts have been very interesting.
All very clever tools. Haven’t seen any before. Thanks for sharing the news!
I love that the BQS sees the value in all kinds of quilts. The videos are entertaining and educational. I adore tools – who wouldn’t want another tool that would make something really cool and makes it easy to create! Thanks for all you do for quilters!!
I like the videos – sometimes I buy rulers and ” mislay” the directions! Love new notions – just like candy!
Sewing/quilting gadgets that save time are a must in my book, especially if I’m trying to crank out a bunch of charity quilts. They make it possible to efficiently create many more complex looking designs while saving time. Thanks for this series. Badass Quilter’s Society is always a refreshing pleasure to visit. I first learned the title “Pearl Clutcher” on this site and it makes me laugh every time I recall it.
I love your sincerity & honesty. You are 100% real and that is a breath of fresh air for the quilting world.
I really enjoy your videos, Maddie–your conversational tone, the way you keep it real, and the valuable quilty information you share. These giveaways have been fun, as I’ve seen some tools I’ll be keeping in mind for my holiday wish list or shopping spree. Thanks for curating–I know there are so many, many rulers, for example; it’s great to know that you weeded through them to show us the few that are really helpful.
BadAss has made it cool to be a quiltist again. Awesome way to find out about new fabrics, techniques, and tools!
As a lefty, I appreciate any tool that can be used both ways! As a quilting instructor, I love to be able to help all my students find the best way for THEM! Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been a bad ass all my life and a Bad Ass Quilter since there were only a few of us.
Maddie many thanks to you and the companies that put on this awesome notions series. The videos were the icing on the cake so to speak. Now Maddie just think how spectacular it would be if all 20k + BadAss members could get together in person for just 1 day! What a statement that would make to the industry! You are the epitome of what those in the The Quilting Industry should be. Thank you for being such a BadAss!
It’s great to have tools for special tasks. A quilter can never have too many rulers!
Hi Maddie. I love watching your videos over looking at a magazine. Your wealth of knowledge and personal touch is exactly what the doctor ordered when life gets crazy. The products you show is always just enough kick in the rear to start the next quilt/project. Thank you!
LOVE learning about what’s new in the quilting world. This has been fun
More notions, please. I like the down-to-earth attitude of this group.
I love being in a group that does not judge and just wants to help. Going to guild meetings and quilt shows I have learned that the “mean girls” have never grown up. It’s more fun to play with your tribe.
Rulers fit right in to my notion obsession!
I enjoy your live videos. I laugh and learn. You have introduced so many new products and vendors. Thank you for making me a better quilter, expanding my knowledge, and my quilt world. My Badass Bag is such a hit. Even Ms. Bobbins enjoyed being photographed with it! 😂
I love the BQS & find your honesty and stance so refreshing. It makes the quilt world feel that much more inclusive and welcoming. Thanks for all these enabling posts & videos on notions and tools… maybe?? Haha, it’s really nice to see them all even if I have to choose which ones I want now.
I love flange bindings, pre-cuts are the bomb and any ruler that makes those easier to use are great in my book. Deb Tucker and Studio 180 is always making things that make life easier and this Corner Pop is no exception, I struggle with accurate cutting and sewing diagonal lines because of arm problems.
I heard about Badass QS a couple of years ago but I really didn’t start following until this year when Maddy started doing more of the live streams on FB and I just fell in love with her personality and what she stood for. I love the articles that she put out and information that she tries to bring to us on a variety of topics with guess speakers on the Blog and this Notion Round-up is just a PSA on all the wonderful products that are out there some people may not have access to LQS or the ability to attend Quilt Festival to see new and initiative products.
Love this site! I am a tool girl and have lots of rulers and notions in my collection – but not the strip one yet! I’m a huge Studio 180 fan and have most of their rulers. 20k isn’t enough? Really? Are they aware of the impact of social media and the spheres of influence those 20k people have?! Stumbled on BAQS a few months ago, and it’s now one f my favourite sites. It makes me laugh and I love the ‘no quilt police’ zone. Great inspiration here and being in trend is cool!
Love the videos. I think they are entertaining and informative. I also am a proud Badass quilter because of the belief that all kinds of quilts and quilters are welcome and of value. In the devisive climate of our society today, this is so important. Plus, Maddie is awesome.
