I’m becoming a Bad Ass Quilter as I begin my journey into this world of quilting. I look at kits that are all nicely prepared in the stores and think, yep I like the pattern, but I don’t want mine to look like every other kit that’s sold. Buy kits for the material and then take the kit apart and use the fabric in another way. Beginning to trust my own judgment with fabric choices and prints without relying too much on others. I haven’t used a cutter but one of my favorite stores has one you can rent.
Bring a badassquilter has meant numerous new friends and the ability to keep my sanity.
Being a Badass Quilter means not following rules but doing things my way. As long as I’m pleased with the results, that’s what counts.
I’m not using die cutters in my quilting.
I am a BAQ because it is a relaxing way to make something beautiful and share it with someone else. I do not use die cuts, but may one of these days. I like handling the fabric and even cutting it up and then watching all those pieces turn into something functional. When I see a quilt or finish one it always gives me a warm feeling knowing that someone will wrap up in it and be warm and cozy. I LOVE Aurafil thread and hope I win.
Love to make things my way. Love variety. Am not using dyes.
BAQ means independence. Do what you want, follow your own ideas, and congrats on this milestone.
What it means to be to be a BadAss Quilter?
WOW! It means I do not go by a set way of what most feel a quilter is. I mix colors and patterns in order to feel right to me
Love to create! No, I do not use die cuts.
I’m a BAQ because I’ve only been quilting for three years but have progressed very far with very little help. I took a couple classes, but figured most things on my own or by utilizing the internet. I’ve made a couple dozen quilts, trying to learn a new technique with each one. It fills my time since retiring and makes me feel happy when someone likes receiving one of my creations as a gift.
I am a BadAss Quilter! We don’t fit in a box or a mold, we are each our own selves with our own way of doing things and thinking outside the box. Being a BadAss Quilter breaks all the stereotypes of quilters and I love it. I have a Accuquilt Go Baby but I have not used it yet because I don’t have any of the die cuts or accessories to use with it but I can’t wait until I can!!!!!
I’m a Bad Ass Quilter because I put lots of love and personality into all my quilts! I hone my skills everyday and always try to do something I haven’t done before. There is always something new to learn or a technique I’ve never tried. You can never be bored as a Bad Ass Quilter! I’ve not used Sizzix yet, but would love to try it.
I try to be a badass quilter! I try to stay traditional in my quilting, but when I started out, I did do some die cutting. I still use a little on the borders on some, as they embellish the borders quite a bit. My next step to learning is, after mastering my feathers, is paper piecing. This is an amazing giveaway! thank you!
Being A Bad Ass Quilter frees me. I give myself permission to change patterns, fabrics and colors to what I find pleasing. BAQS reminds me its all about creativity and thinking outside the box.
I share an Accuquilt with my sister in our sewing room. We use it to cut all borders, bindings, and pieces for some quilts. We don’t use it for speed so much as for accuracy.
Yea! BAQS hits 8,000!
I like making my quilts with no rules, just BAQ rules. Love to win the prizes. Congratulations on the 8000 likes.
Being a BadAss Quilter means that I can create whatever I want! I can create it for who I want, when I want and how I want! I love making quilts to donate for premies not local and lap quilts for a local hospice in a hospital! I do not have a die cutter! I cut it all by hand!
Being a badass quilter means I get to do whatever I want! No die cutter yet!!
Badass encourages the freedom to make the heart SING on your quilts! And yes, I do own a die cutter.
i am a BadAss quilter because I like to add lace to my quilting. I do not have a die-cutter but woul love to try one
Being a Bad Ass Quilter means I can accept the traditional quilting, but punch it up a notch or two with modern colors and modern quilting. I enjoy seeing so many different style and techniques and learning new thing!!!
I have used die cuts that I have purchased (couldn’t resist some hand dyed and batiks) but don’t have a die cutter myself (yet). BadAss? That just means I make things my way – my quilts will never be called “cookie cutter”…
being “bad ass” as a quilter means following your own beat, not caving to what other people say you should do! I haven’t tried die cut piecing yet but would certainly give it a try!
Being a BadAss quilter means creating by the seat of my pants – no technique is off limits so long as it gets me the results I want. Improv, changing the design mid-work is par for the course.
I have not experimented with die cuts yet, but want to.
Bad ass means to me I do it and I love it and who cares what other people think!
Making patterns my own. I love twisting patterns to fit my vision. I have used a die cutter to cut some flower shapes for a wall hanging.
Being a BadAss quilter means I always have fun at my disposal. I have a lot of BadAss quilter friends who make me laugh at my mistakes. I love to use cutters for appliqué & other tedious cutting tasks.
Being a BadAss Quilter means no one messes with my quilts. I have not use any die cutting machines in my quilt making.
I try really hard to be a BAD quilter and not let the quilt police get me. That said I am my worst enemy when judging my own quilts. I love to quilt and reminds me of love and family.
Being a Badass Quilter to me is not conforming to the rest of the world. I like to use embroidery and other embellishments. I do not have a die cutter at this time.
I’m a BadAss quilter who learns how to do what I can’t if I can’t afford to send something out. King size DWR with awesome hyper quilting? – Bring it on! Me and my tabletop machine will rock it! I also “don’t give a good Gol darn” if anybody – traditionalist or modernist or artsy fartsy – doesn’t like what I’m doing. And I’m not afraid to let people see my insane backup of projects that were accumulated over the years and which it tickles my fancy to work through in my own fashion. And I’m BadAss because I share what I figure out with other quilters freely. That’s what makes our community so awesome.
BAQ – No rules, do what you love, love what you do! I have been considering buy a die cut machine, but can’t decided on the brand.
no quilt police! Being happy with everything I create and teaching others the passion of quilting
I’m a Bad Ass quilter because I make what I want, however I want to make it.
No, I haven’t used a die cutting machine. I think I would like too.
Because bleep happens. I don’t already use die-cutting, love to try!
Being a badass quilter means after quilting for over 20 years I can do things the way I want. No quilt police to get in my way. To Your own self be true. This is an awesome give away.
Being a bad ass quilter means doing things the way you want, finding inspiration anywhere and everywhere, and not being ashamed to show the world your final projects, mistakes (quirks) and all. I’ve not used die cuts but would love to give them a try
I just love quilting. To be a “badass quilter”, to me, means creating a design and applying it to the quilt that leaves the recipient with their jaw dropped. That is an awesome feeling!
being a badass quilter means i don’t follow the rules, and i don’t expect anyone else to either! thanks so much for the giveaway!
To be a bad ass quilter.
Is like being a famous painter. The difference is I use fabric. To create everything and anything I desire. One of a kind ideas. With all the patiences ,passion and love.
BAQs know that creating on their own terms is the best and only way. Making for others and doing what we love without constraints keeps our work fresh and free! Go, BAQS! (No die cutting for me so far)
life is great when you snuggle with life’s memories all pieced together with the threads of love sewn in the blanket of your life with your love. I am a quilter! HEAR ME ROAR,
Being a BadAss Quilter means creating things that YOU enjoy, reardless of the ‘quilt police’ and their ‘rules’. I do not use die-cutting for my porjects.
Being a BadAss Quilter means I can quilt whatever I like, in whatever way I like. It doesn’t matter what the quilt police say. And yes, I use die cuts whenever possible. They are so fast and easy! Thanks for the chance to win. Have a super day!
Love Bad Ass in all aspects of life. To me, bad ass quilting is doing what you want when you want, no holds barred, make it work quilting. I have not used die cutting in quilting but have in the past in card making. You rock, keep it going.
Being a Badass Quilter is thinking outside the box. I like to do things my way, rules are meant to be broken and much more fun. I like to add embellishments, paint/stamp on fabric and use embroidery. I also use a die cutter too!
Not using die cuts as yet, just loving brights and chucking the rule book out of the window.
Being a Badass Quilter means making what you want just so that you can see the smiles on peoples faces when they receive a quilt. It brings me a sense of peace, but I don’t use a die cutter. Congratulations on your amazing followers
I am new-ish to quilting and do not use die cutting but would LOVE to for applique and such!!!
i sing to my own tune! That’s why I love you guys!
Enjoying the inspirations to create and push myself in new directions. Yes i do die cuts.
Being a badass quilter means having the freedom to do what you want with your quilting. For me it means I try things because I want to….not because they are the latest trend. I quilt for others…charity…but the real joy for me is working on something….even though it isn’t perfect…..but loving it anyways. I have not done any work with machines that cut out shapes although I am intrigued….maybe I’ll win!!
