And share this post to increase the fun!!!

Bad Ass Quilters, huh? Well, I surely qualify. Would rather be at the sewing machine than making dinner, dusting, scrubbing, sweeping, making beds, shopping for food or otherwise. Bad Ass Quilter, here is covered in lint and strings of thread–always. Bad Ass Quilter has be asked more than once to let the dog out. Bad Ass Quilters let the phone roll over to VM. Bad Ass Quilters cannot walk thru the house as stash is everywhere.
This looks like a wonderful fabulous fun assortment of goodies.
And no, I have not used a die cutting machine. Would like to try it.
Being a bad ass quilter means trying everything that strikes your fancy, regardless of whether it’s “in” or whether you think you have the ability to, and then doing more of what you love the most. Doing what you love, and continuing to get better and think outside the box!
I have used an Accuquilt a couple times, but just for some basic shapes to try it out. I’d like to do more with diamonds, triangles and parallelograms, so I think it would be useful for those shapes.
Thanks for the giveaway, and for being a wonderful resource and influence for quilters!!
Being a Badass Quilter means not being apologetic for my creativity, my colors choices, or “MY” way of doing it. I consider quilting an art & no one would tell an artist how to create. Badass Quilter means independence, freedom & fearlessness……and FUN!!!!
I LOVE being a Bad ass quilter, because it keeps my mind off of pain that I live with 24/7. There are no quilt police allowed where I quilt, so anything goes π Im just free to be me. I love that after 13 years, Im still learning new things. Quilting will never be boring to me π Have a great day Thank you for the giveaways. Merry Christmas Quilters!!!!
Being a BadAss Quilter means that I get to show my creativity, personality, and my ever growing talent as a sewer/quilter to the world! I do own a Baby Go Cutter but I have only used it once, it just wasn’t for me.
Being a bad ass quilter means having night dreams about creating a new quilt, waking long enough to write it down, and working on it the next day! It means that when you start your car, the car knows it will be going to a quilt shop that day, to look for the right little piece of fabric. It means being a thread snob (nothing but Aurifil for me!). Being a bad ass quilter means to find excuses for making a quilt–new babies, Mother’s Day gift, seeing that someone’s bed needs cheering up, and making quilts to hang in your foyer! It also means a sewing room that may be clean, but never uncluttered! Ha ha!
I love being a BadAss Quilter! It means taking risks, thinking outside the box and making a creation all your own! I have not tried die-cutting – yet! Thanks for the generous giveaways ~
Being a BDQ means, for me, quilting what I want, when I want and how I want. No listening to what the latest trends are, what I should be buying, how I should be spending my precious sewing time. It’s just enjoying quilting, pure and simple. And no, I’m not using die cutting in my life, whether quilting or otherwise! (But that’s only because I don’t have a die cutting machine! It would be great for my mam, a beginning quilter who is really struggling to cut her own fabric and usually ‘out sources’ it!)
Being a bad ass quilter for me means pushing my boundaries. Trying new methods and techniques that aren’t easy for me. It often means I’m cursing some at the machine and using my seam ripper, but it also means I get to see large leaps in my quilting abilities. And that makes me feel pretty bad ass.
I haven’t used any die-cutting machines, but I have been curious.
I would call myself a Badass Quilter because I use patterns as inspiration not the bottom line. I have 3 favorite designers whose fabric will be found in ALL of my quilts. Sort of a love/love kind of thing. For instance in Jan I’ll be doing a “reproduction” quilt using all modern fabrics and not reproduction fabrics.
I don’t have a die cut but I’ve been saving up for one as my cutting can be rather wonky and as I do more and more applique, having a die cutter would be serendipitous!
It means doing it your way and not worrying about all of the people that would tell you that you are wrong for doing so. I haven’t ventured into die cutting yet. It looks like fun though!
Being a Bad Ass Quilter means I can do whatever I want to with fabric…No need to follow the rules grandmother did…..Be bright be bold be creative…Be unique be Me. I let my creativity run wild.. I have not used die cut fabric in my projects as of yet…But it does look very intriguing….Especially for things like hexagons and circles…So they would all be uniform in size.
Being a Bad Ass Quilter is not following any rules. Just do whatever you please.
To be a Bad Ass Quilter, it means I totally own all aspects of this crazy old-lady hobby, the full rainbow of threads I wear all over my clothes in public, and I get ridiculously excited about guild sew-ins.
I don’t currently use die-cutting, but have been intrigued particularly for cutting scraps and applique shapes.
Bad ass is believing in Santa but NOT believing in Quilt Police! Happily making it up as I go along π
No die-cutting here – yet!
As a BADASS QUILTER, I will search everywhere and go anywhere to obtain the pattern or fabric that I want to use in a project.
BAQ’s means to me that you follow your heart abd create this that make you happy. Try new things and make new friends along the way.
I have never used a die cut machine yet, but I would love to in the future. π
I haven’t used a die cutting machine. I like to cut a lot of my own things out but when you do it over and over again then I do consider it. I like to have lots of projects going at the same time then there is always something to do!
I haven’t tried a cutter yet, and have made some badass quilts without. But I would like to try one.
I think being a badass quilter means doing things your own way and not having to conform to the mold of “how it’s always been done”! And no I have never used die cuts. π
Being a badass quilter means quilting the way I want to and not depending on others to tell me if what I created fits their opinion of “right.” I love fabric and playing with it. And I often overindulge when purchasing fabric. I just can’t help myself! I have a die cut machine and I have used it a couple of times but never for cutting fabric for a quilt;
To me being a Bass Ass Quilter is making things that make others wish they had one. I create some of my own patterns. I haven’t tried die cutting…yet. It’s on my bucket list though.
I am a BAQ and am retired. I can sew anytime I want and enjoy sewing very much. I do not have any fancy sewing machine or special cutting machine. I cut all matrial with a cutting mat and rotor cutter. I am just a quilter who cannot afford the fancy quilting tools and supplies that seem to help everyone move more quickly and faster sewing
I’m not quite a BadAss Quilter yet as I’ve only been at it for two years. But started by making a baby quilt for a friend and I haven’t stopped making quilts to give away as gifts! I dove in head first; taking classes, watching youtube videos, reading blogs, visit and support my local stores, and anything else I can do to grow. Every step is one hundred percent me, from choosing or creating a new pattern, choosing my fabrics (always like input opinions), my threads, cutting, piecing, quilting, and binding. Looking to learn more on appliquΓ©, art quilting, and fabric dye. I have not yet tried die cutting, and since my least favorite part is cutting the fabric, I will be considering it for my future.
I don’t see my previous comment, so I’ll try again.
Patterns? BadAss Quilters don’t need no stinking patterns!
Although if they use them, that’s absolutely fine too.
Personally I don’t like pattern quilts…which means a lot of paper-piecing and applique in my quilts…or just plain making it up as I go.
I’ve used my Cricut to cut fabric (300 handprints at one point!), but a Sissix sounds much better!
I thank i am a bad ass quilter because i will try anything ones..NO sorry haven’t tried die cast yet…
Being a BadAss quilter means doing your own thing, and that’s right up my alley. I have always hated people telling me what to do!
Being BadAss means that I quilt to please myself and I love my renegade ways. I have not had the pleasure of using a die cutter, but would definitely explore that in the future!
Being a Bad Ass Quilter is fun. No quilt rules but my own. I prefer using die cuts and sometimes I cut the dies shapes in half to make my own unique shapes.
Hahaa! I just love typing “BadAss Quilter”!!!:) To me it means I see fabric…I get a tingle in my fingers….and there you go. Doesn’t matter if it is traditional, contemporary or all of the above I just go for it.
I work at a quilt shop and yes…there are quilts that come in for show and tell that aren’t quite my cup of tea but I can always, always find something great to like be it the colors, fabric, pattern, quilting, etc. No quilt police here that’s for sure.
If it gives you pleasure that’s all that matters!
Congrats on 8,000+ BAQs out there!
Forgot to say I haven’t traveled down the road of die cutting….yet…I bet my points might match better if I did….but who really cares if they do!!:)
To be Bad Ass is to rock your craft, no matter what people say or the unsolicited opinions they offer. It means trying new techniques, failing every once in a while, and basking in all of those successes. Being Bad Ass means loving what you make and wanting to share it with others.
I have not ventured into die-cutting…would be Bad Ass to give it a try:)
Thanks!
Meg
To be BadAss means to be accepting, welcoming, and encouraging of all quilters, whether what they are making is to your taste/style. We all have our own passion π I am just getting into the die cutting game, as I asked for (and will be receiving) a die cutter for Christmas.
love this BAQS and the giveaways are awsome. thanks
Being a BAQ means total freedom of expression to follow my ideas, to improvise, to experiment and to be creative to my hearts content. Sorry I don’t own a die cutter but I have purchased die cut fabrics (charm squares, jelly rolls, cakes, etc).
PS: If I’m fortunate enough to win one of the fabulous Aurifil gifts I have a USA address. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
Being a Bass Ass Quilter means I can do what I LIKE and love what I do! It’s liberating to create and so rewarding to make useful, quality things that people will cherish simply because I made them. A lot of love and personality are in those items. I do not use any die cutting now but would love to! This is fun being a part of the BAQ Society!
BadAss quilting means I can have 37 quilts in different stages at once, and 37 hundred in my mind that scream to be made, and work on the one I want to work on when I’m awake at 2:30 am with insomnia. I love taking traditional blocks and updating with new, modern fabric then pairing them with unexpected settings, embellishments, and borders. I have a few dies and a starter cutting system but use our guild’s extensive dies often.
Being a BadAssQuilter means I have met some wonderful BadAss quilting friends. We go on shop hops and retreats together. I have a BadAss time with them!! I do not own a die cutting machine.
Being a Bad Ass Quilter means that I can do a and make anything I want the way that I want to make it. It is quite liberating. Love die cuts… Makes me look at my patterns differently.
Being a Bad Ass Quilter? For me it’s staying up late, pouring my heart and soul into fabric, paper piecing ass kicking quilts that people USE and LOVE.
I just do it my way! The process matters more to me than the finished product. π Thanks for the opportunity to win.
quilting makes me soar! Nothing like taking creativity and taking it to new places you’ve never been too! Each new project creates new avenues to accomplish.
And then the kicker comes in, showing your finished pieces and listening to the joy it gives others. Makes your heart swell!
Just flipping love it!
Oh my what generous gifts from great sponsors-Thank you for sharing. I love the mission/message of the Bad Ass Quilters Society. It is wonderful to be with a group who wants to encourage and uplift our craft (love) of quilting. To be the best that we can be.
Being a BAQ means using lots of bold patterns and bright colors together without having to be “matchy-matchy.” I’m drawn to anything sparkly and beautiful, so my Bad Ass Quilts aren’t always cotton. Silks, satins, like a modern crazy quilt…just Badass:) I’m eagerly awaiting my Accuquilt cutter. It is arriving tomorrow. So I hope to use it to take my Badass Quilts to another level.
I am a BadAss Quilter! Why? Because I make what pleases me, not what is fashionable. I fudge my 1/4″ seams, ease it all in between seam lines, mix dots and stripes, and try to be creative with my quilting. Wish I could cut a straight line though, which is exactly why I should win – so I could then be a die cutter, which I am not now. π
I love being a piece of the BadAss Quilters because I’m in such great company – You and all the other BadAsses that commented here. Every time I see You I learn a little something more. This is the perfect community for me because I jump right in with both feet and forget to plug my nose. Sink, swim or drown, I’m in it. Thanks for having me. I don’t have a die cutter. I fussy cut. It’d be nice to die cut because my hands tend to numb up on me after a while. All good though. I love creating.
I love badass quilting trying new things learning from everyone and I love my cutting tool it is a great addition to my supplies
BAQ means that I can throw caution to the wind and make as many scrap quilts that I want and never worry if the colors don’t match or go together. I do not use a die cutting machine but would love to have one. Thanks for all the awesome giveaways.
How amazing, I remember the 4,000 likes and the goodies and here you are now. So impressive! Well deserved. I would LOVE to have one of these prizes, putting all of it to work to make lovely beautiful art! I promise I would share pictures of the creations. I hope to see your lovely contributions again in the Chattanooga quilt show.
i haven’t used die cuts but think I would love it. Being a Bad Ass Quilter means I quilt by my rules to do what brings only Joy into my life.
I would love any of the above mentioned items. Thank you.
