And share this post to increase the fun!!!

I love being a BadAss Quilter, I may be new to quilting but I have really enjoyed working on quilts with my mother. I haven’t used a die cutter but I would like to try them out.
Being a BAQ to me means leaving everyone to freely design in her/his own creative space. Quilt police check your credentials at the door and come enjoy the show. Wonky or precise, scrappy or planned, solids or prints, there is room for it all. I love color and prints and my projects reflect that. I am doing me.
Just being called a Bad Ass Quilter is the best, even if there is nothing else bad ass about me. It means quilting rules are only meant to be followed if they make my life easier and my quilting fun and entertaining. That is why I quilt in the first and only place, fun, creativity and entertainment. No I haven’t used a die cutter, but as much as enjoy cutting fabric, I think I would still like to try one sometime. Especially for a charm quilt.
BAQ to me is piecing and quilting however I wish and supporting others in doing the same. Congrats on 8000
Being a Badass Quilter means I don’t fear a quilting challenge! It is one area of my life where I can learn from my mistakes without feeling anxious about it, and I live sharing what I’ve learned with others. I also enjoy the looks of fear and awe my BAQS bumper sticker inspires in the uninitiated! I do not have a die cutter but have tried one once for a class at my LQS.
Being a BadAss quilter means I only use the fabrics I love in patterns I love. Of course we all know a pattern is only a suggestion, so it is up to us (as BAQ’s) to see how far we can take it! I love die cuts for quick backgrounds for designs (tumblers are especially fun). I have been using my scan ‘n cut for applique designs-especially floral and scrolling designs and sew using the raw-edge applique method.
ive just recently discovered BAQ but I love the sensibility behind it. Following my ow instincts and bending the “rules” to make what I envision is how I would define baq. I have never used any machinery to cut fabric but it sounds exciting.
Absolutely badass quilter here, and chief of the real quilt police. Curious? Visit my blog (should be linked to my name right above my comment and search for the post Occupy Quilt Police) to find out more.
I love the idea of die cutting. I’ve got a BabyGo and a few dies. What would be even more badass would be the ability to easily have custom dies made. Then I might actually be able to create all those quilt designs that are floating around in my head.
Congrats on 8000 and growing!
Love being a BadAss quilter! Nothing more relaxing and enjoyable than time spent quilting! I have just recently started using die cuts. This is an amazing array of gifts! Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this exciting giveaway!
badass means not to judged for the quilts that make. I do not use die-cuts, not in the budget.
Being a BAQ means I create my way and don’t worry about the judgement of others. I enjoy my craft.
I do have a die cutter but don’t love it…. So I rarely use it.
I love quilting and will leave anything else needing done, cleaning, baking, etc, so I can quilt. I guess maybe I am a BAQ! Love it! And no I have not tried die cutting.
Thank you,
Mary
I’m a BAQ & mighty proud of it!!!
Being a Bad Ass Quilter to me means marching to your own drummer and finding joy in your quilting passions. I have just recently started using die cuts and love them. slowly adding to the collection as finances permit.
I have a big shot machine I use for my paper crafting and have bought 2 dies to use for fabric. Love the die cuts and love quilting. Bad Ass Quilters rock.
I am a badass quilter because I have a quilt gift policy that is the following “You are only allowed to compliment the quilt you are given. Any snark means I get to take it back :)”
You are awesome!! Thank you for the chance at so many wonderful products! Being a Bad Ass means being awesome and simply creating whatever you love! I have never used die cuts but would love to try! Thanks again!!
Being bad ass is doing the things I want, using whatever I want. If it turns out great, fantastic, if it turns out like poo well at least I tried. This is the freedom to do what I want on my time and I think it is fantastic to have these companies support us in everything we try.
Being a Bad Ass Quilter means I only have to follow the rules I like, and only when I feel like it. I’m free to experiment with color and line and say “what if?” I can make my Dear Jane quilt in Kaffe Fassett prints if I feel like it.
Now there’s an idea…
I learned how to quilt using traditional patterns and fabric. I am glad that I learned the basics. BUT more thrilled that I have moved beyond all that and enjoy the freedom to quilt outside the box! I don’t have a cutting machine.
BadAss means to me to get outside of the norm (box) and not be the same as everyone else. I have not gotten into using a die cutter yet.
It means I can be creative and experiment with size, color and shape to make it my own. I don’t currently use a die cutter. I mostly use a rotary cutter.
Great site and great prizes!
Being a BadAss Quilter means not worrying if anyone else likes the quilts I make. As long as I love them, that’s all that matters to me. I also don’t always follow the “rules” of quilting. It’s fun to modify a pattern a little to make it totally mine.
Way to go! Love this!
I’m a badass quilter because I will try anything if it looks interesting and I haven’t tried die cutting yet but will at some point
What a wonderful site this is. I think I qualify as part of BAQS by the 37 quilts I have pieced that need to be quilted. WHEW. No pressure.
I’m a BadAss Quilter because I sometimes break the quilting rules (if you believe there really are quilting rules) and I don’t care if I do.
I’ve never tried a die-cutting thing-a-ma-bob but would love to!
being a BadAss means I get to choose which rules to.follow. I have used a die cutter, but do most of my cutting the ol fashioned way. I love the old patterns as well as the new. Am not afraid to try something new, piecing or quilting! Love this site and all of your generous friends!
Honestly? I’m not a bad ass quilter, but I want to be! I’m just starting out and can’t wait to know what I’m doing!
It means being a little wild and free, a bit crazy in your style, your quilt’s feel and look. It means working your projects like only you can and not worrying about the rules or what anyone else is doing.
I do not use dies, i still hand cut!
I am almost 80 and have just made my first quilt. What a joy. I don’t have a cutter yet, but they sound like just the thing. I don’t have so many years left. I am also interested in this thread. I have not had the opportunity to try it but oh, would I love to!
I don’t use die cuts yet but will be starting to next year. After 20 years of quilting by the rules, I am branching out and seeing where it takes me.
Being a BAQ means marching to the beat of my own drum! I love mixing fun fabrics and try not to sweat the small stuff. I have not used a die-cutter yet but hope to try one soon!
I am not a current die cutter but I would love to be one soon. I am a bad ass quilter because I rock at what I do!
i would say, I am a Bad Ass Quilter! I love to make quilts and Quilty things! I work part time at a quilt store (my dream job) and have too many UFO’s! I run 2 retreats a year with my friends and try to get together monthly. I do use accuquilt sometimes! I just got GoBig and am thrilled!
Being a bad ass quilter means not getting offended when people say they wish they had the time – we all have the time, but only the truly bad asses know how to use it well! I’d like to try die cutting some hexies – I love the idea of how much time that would save me!
I love the “no rules apply” motto of the Bad Ass Quilter’s Society. Need I say more?!! I’m sew excited for this chance to win your most awesome giveaway!!! 😀
Being badass means having fun and loving what I do. It means that if I see a design that I love, I teach myself how to do it. If I need help, I ask for it, and adapt a technique if needed to my personal style. It also means that if I see something I love, from whatever genre of quilting or sewing, that I can use it or make it my own, and not worry about labels and categories
I’ve never been a non-conformist, but I do finally know who I am and what I like. So I believe being a badass is knowing yourself and who you are, and not being afraid to show it.

i became a BAQ 12 yrs ago when I started quilting and someone told me that we could never use black in our quilts and my thought was “Challenge on.” Being a BAQ means do it your way. You are allowed to use bright colors, never follow a pattern, write in your quilt books, and ignore quilt police. I don’t have and have never used the cutter.
I love quilting gifts as I put my heart into what I do and in a way am giving a piece of me to each recipient. I use a Go.
Love being a badass quilter, cause i can do it my way! It must be okay since i’ve never got it back and have people waiting to take it if the person didn’t like it. I do love trying out all the new tools, have quite the collection going (lol). I don’t have a die cutter, but i think it would be awesome to add to the collection. Anything to make it faster so i can make more!
Doing the type of quilting you want w/the fabrics you want and that puts a smile on your face! I have used die cutting in scrap booking, but not fabric yet.
Great giveaway! I love to make a hand quilted baby quilt for each of my grandchildren. I am now working on # 18!
Being a Bad Ass Quilter, I am CONFIDENT that I can face any quilting/textile art challenge utilizing a multitude of WEAPONS: Color, shape, design, technique, and texture. It gives me FREEDOM to escape the norm, when it suits me…even overcome DISASTER :-). Actually, the “disasters” often require the most ingenuity to overcome – and end up being happy accidents!
I have not used die cutters, yet, but I have definitely wished for their help…especially when drawing and cutting circles.
wow, there are a lot of Badass Quilters here! For me it means to sew what I like, don’t sweat the minor imperfections, use them ugly fabrics, and splash on extra color when in the mood! I think I would like a die cutter to reduce time with the mundane cutting… Just saying.
I’m a bad ass quilter because I love seeing people’s faces when they are gifted with one of my quilts. I love COLORING outside the box and work my projects with a little twist of my I own. I own the accuquilt go and enjoy the ease of cutting it provides must mostly applique cutting has been a God Send.
I’m the model BAQ! I think, eat, learn, watch, attend, dream, read, and sleep quilts and/or quilting. Whomever comes over is overwhelmed by my quilt talk and show. I just can’t get enough so enough said. Unfortunatley, I do not use a die cutting system. I still use the “old fashioned way” of cutting with a rotary cutter; just glad this isn’t the 70’s when scissors were the only way.
I am a BAQ because you, Maddy, helped me stand up for what I want to create – I am an individual and not a lemming following the quilting trend of the moment over the cliff
Gifted with a Baby Go, I have one die – the circles
