Being a Badass Quilter means I get a chance to make things how I want and when I want with no rules but my own. It’s my “me time” that is not burdened by others expectations or measures.
Thank you for this opportunity! I do not currently use die cutting.
well being a bad ass quilter means that matchy-matchy goes out the window and totally serendipitous scrappy is in! my very first quilt, a sampler, was drop-dead boring but no more! i almost never buy yardage for a quilt anymore, preferring to shop my stash and throw dull and predictable out the window…it’s the only way to fly!
Being a bad-ass quilter means that I can create what I WANT and not what anyone else tells me to! I have never used a die cutter before.
Let’s see.. what it means to me to be a BadAss Quilter – the fact that as a new quilter (but old sewer) I am whipping through projects like a hot knife in butter.. with 10 days to go, all but one of my xmas projects DONE and I hope to get that done by tomorrow night!
Nope, I do not use any die- cutting
Absolutely hugely generous prize offerings.. new to your site I’m gonna give it the quick run around then I must work!
i love being a BAQ because in my world there is no right or wrong way to do things. I have come to realize that quilting is meant to be fun, relaxing and creative so, yes it is ok to make a mistake. This is an awesome give away and appreciate the opportunity to participate.
Thanks-
Tom C.

A badass quilter means I can do my projects the way I want and not what the books tell me to do. I do not have any die-cutting machines. This is a fabulous give a way – so many items I would love to win.
I have been quilting since the late 80’s, but felt constrained by the “quilt police,” which caused a paralysis of creativity. For me, being a BAQ has meant that the quilt police have received life sentences to prison and I will no longer be inhibited by rules and conventions and I am free to let loose my creativity and follow it wherever it takes me. Some journeys will be better than others–some filled with joy and others as learning experiences. But it’s all good because it is my quilting, my way.
I do use a die cutter and use it frequently.
Such an awesome giveaway!! To be a BadAss quilter to me means to quilt with no rules and no limits. If you want to make a pink batik Christmas quilt, go for it because it is what you like and you want to make. Who is anyone else to tell you otherwise. (Seriously, I made a pink a green batik Christmas quilt 🙂 ). And don’t be afraid to mix fabrics and colors because in the end it is your creation and each is a piece of art. Also, be kind to the other quilters… young, old, new, or seasoned; they each have something to bring to the quilting bee.
As for die-cuts, I do not generally have them in my quilting unless it is something I pull from the scrap bin at my LQS. I do love digging through the scrap bin.
Love Aurifil thread!
I can think outside the quilting box and be as creative as I want. 🙂
To be a BADAss quilter is to keep trying until you get it right, mistakes are just the process of learning, plus family do not look at the mistakes just the thought of getting a quilt. I have received a quilt kit that had die cut pieces and love it I am always looking at the die cutting to see if it is something I need.
Being a BAQ means I’m in a group with many fabulous people. Haven’t used die cuts but I’d love to try! What a generous give away, I love your shop and In Town too.
being a bad ass has not come naturally, you might say I just evolved into it . Quilting is my passion it gives me the freedom to express myself , and to make others happy. I love using different methods to aid in the creative process !! It had taken me years to say I am a bad ass quilter and proud of it.
Being a BadAss Quilter means following my heart and making things that make me happy, and choosing to celebrate how diverse and different we can all be! I do not currently use die cutters for sewing – it’s just me and my Olfa over here. 🙂
love your page, its fun to watch others who are hooked on quilting, and you certainly rock…
thanks for this generous contest.
Being a Badass means I live outside the invisable boundries put on by some people. I’m free to be creative in the easiest way that works for me. When you’re restricted it’s very hard to let things flow.
Would love a die cutter for this small pieces that can be tedious to cut.
Being a BAQ means freedom!!! I get to do it my way. I get to have fun and not worry! (No, I don’t use die cuts)thank you for the giveaways!!!!
What being a bad ass quilter means to me, i would rather be quilting than running around to parties and things. Staying up late quilting missing some good hours of sleep.Seeing the end results of sewing the little pieces together is amazing. Looking at all the beautiful quilts just builds on my bucket list, I can never die. I use a accuquilt go sometimes to cut.
No rules! I’m never wrong unless I say I’m wrong!! Have always wanted to try the die cutting but so far never have…can’t believe what a great giveaway this is! I would be so excited it I was one of the 4 winners!!! So fun.
i love piecing beautiful fabric to make squares that go together to make beautiful quilts. I do not use any die cutter for my fabric shapes. I enjoy the process of using rulers to cut the shapes!
I am not a BAQ yet, but I aspire to be one! I have a lot to learn but I won’t give up. I like to try my own patterns and learn new techniques–haven’t used a die cut or a kit yet, but you never know!!
I’m new to BAQ but I’m one that dances to her own drum and don’t care who likes it….so I should be at home here! Haven’t used the die cutter but I am thinking about buying one of the new electric ones.
Being a Bad Ass Quilter means that I do thing my way without the worry of how it ‘should’ be done. There is no ‘wrong’ way, only my way. I do use die cutting in lots of projects, especially applique work.
Being a BAQ means piecing a beautiful quilt top and then quilting it to take it from beautiful to incredibly awsome! A BAQ lives, loves, and becomes a part of evey quilt. I have never used a die cutter but would love to have one. I make a lot of applique quilts and wonder how creative I could get with one.
Being a Bad-Ass Quilter means that I quilt whatever I want and my quilting is no less or better than others. Because I don’t appliqué, it doesn’t mean my quilt is less, for example. I make gifts with my heart, and I expect you (the receiver) to show some damn appreciation. 🙂
YES I use die cuts in my quilting… and pre-cuts and funky cuts and straight cuts and curved cuts. What makes me a BAQ – the willingness to try anything. If I like it, I try it again. And if I don’t really love it, I try it one more time just to be sure! Then I mix it all up and do something new 🙂
I met a women at a bar last night totally by coincidence and we started talking about quilting and she told me about this site. How bad ass is that. I must belong here. Have never done die cutting but as with all things would love to learn.
Being a BAQ means you can never have too much fabric and you never have to appologize for yor stash! I do not have a die cutter but would love to own one!
badass means setting my own path and owning it. I make quilts and your definitions don’t affect my decisions.
I’m not currently using die cuts.
A badass quilter is an awesome quilter! What a beautiful site and lots of inspiration!
Being badass is sewing without listening to the quilt police, doing it my way and sometimes changing things up just because I can!!! And no I don’t do die cutting. This is a great give away and wishing everyone good luck!! But keeping my fingers and toes crossed lol
Being a BAQ is great for enabling and encouraging us to come up with our own creative ideas for quilting. I love it. I do not currently use die cuts but have heard many great comments so I’m definitely interested in finding out more about them. Thanks for this.
What makes me a bad ass quilter is the opportunity to share my hobby with so many people! Everyone loves a quilt, it’s a instant love hug!
I don’t currently own a cutting system.
It means being able to do the designs and quilting any way I want to get the look I have pictured in my head. Not worrying about the quilt police. No I do not use a cutter for my designs.
No die cuts here yet. I don’t usually mind the cutting process. I’m a BAQ because I do what I like and I’m not afraid to try new things. Congrats on 8000!
Being a Bad Ass Quilter means working outside the box and doing things my own way. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Either way, it is a learning experience.
Love your name. I must be one because I don’t follow the rules. I design my own quilts to fit the person that I’m making it for. One rule I do follow that the total blocks have outside right angles at the corners and that opposite sides of the total quilt are equal!
To me, being a BAQ means I have confidence and usually my own way of doing things that I think looks pretty good, usually not totally following a pattern and “making it my own” as they like to say on TV these days.
I have a die cutter but shamefully have not used it yet, but I have several bad ass ideas about what I’m going to do with it.
Being a Bad Ass Quilter means you get to use your creative juices & imagination to take extraordinary fabrics and transform them into warm, snuggly works of art. I just started quilting this year & completed three quilts to give as gifts. I am hooked! I do not have a die cutter at this time.
Being a BadAss quilter means NO QUILT POLICE! We make quilts that we like and enjoy the process, and don’t care what others think!
I am not using a Die Cutter at this time, maybe someday.
Hi all! Being a Bad Ass quilter means I have become the “cool quilting Aunt” in the family! All the nieces and even the nephews think the projects are way more than cool! Haven’t tries the die cutter in my quilting yet, but would love the opportunity! Sounds like a blast!
I just found you, but am going to need to stay. This looks like a great place ! No die cuts for me yet, but there’s still time…..
i am a BAQ because I quilt what I like …modern traditional whatever is working on a given day. I have not used die cuts. What a wonderful giveaway! Thanks for the chance!
You’re not a Bad Ass Quilter unless you have enough quilt projects lined up that if you can’t die till they’re all finished, you will live forever! I don’t have a die cutter, but having one would only add to my longevity:)
There are no die cutters in my quilt life yet although some days I wish I had one to put all my quilt block dreams together that much faster. Being a BAQ means being able to follow one’s muse, colour combos and design ideas to its thrilling outcome. It also means being thrilled for your fellow quilters when they do the same.
I love being a BAQ!! I’ve always had a problem following the rules, and managed to disappoint everyone who expected great things of me. Belonging to a group of people who refuse to have anything to do with rules . . . and patterns . . . and color charts . . . color me THERE!
As for die-cuts . . . I’ve never used them, but I’m game . . . I’ll try anything once!
OH! Congratulations on #8,000!!!
Because being a badass quilter I can share the Love of Quilting with Family and other people and programs that are giving the love of quilts to people in need. Yes I do use die cutting tools.
Bad ass is an approach to life….I quilt for many reasons that all come back to my need to be creative and fabric and threads are my means of finding a way to express myself. Color and texture provoke my creative impulse …I have not used a die cut appliqué process yet.
I do use an AccuQuilt. I love to use color and shape to create art quilts. That is what being a BadAss Quilter means to me.
Thanks for the giveaway. BAQ-nice to be part of a group.
