Sandi-Suggs-cover

I am often guilty of thinking that I have to drive or fly far away to find quality quilting education and inspiration and feel like a total dolt when it turns out it is practically in my own back yard.

Today’s Cover Quilter is an amazing example of that,  Sandi Suggs of Frongpond studio  is a local quilter “done good” and her teaching reputation spans far past the borders that we share here in our little Southern Niche of the world.

And while her journey to quilting comes by that of first being a teacher and is infused with the life lessons of early widowhood and then blessings of second love (30 years and counting!) she never fails to have a smile and a kind word for everyone all while being a sassy spitfire who also enjoys her gardening, her grands and her adorable Little Yorkie Lil’Bit.

Sandi is a prolific quilter and with just a quick visit to her blog Frogpond Studio you can see as well.  Be warned.. grab a cup of tea and maybe a cookie or two .. you will be entranced with all this lady does and be on her page for a while!

I don’t get to spend near enough time with this woman.. and more the shame, she has so much to teach and a way about her that makes things easy to understand. But like a tornado she is always on the move and in fact she is a fantastical key player in AQS bringing their quilt show to Chattanooga in  2014!!

Lucky me.. she will be slowing down long enough to take a silk painting class at SewBeIt in the coming weeks and I will be there with her – life is good!
