Since posting my article about  how not to get caught up in the dirty little world of copyright stealing in the quilt world I have been contacted by a lot of people who are worried that what they have done might be stealing.

So to add a small bit of clarity –

  1. Yes you may share a link to that post and even this post.  It is never wrong to share a link to a publicly posted article or blog post.
  2. What you really need more than anything is a gut-check…  if what you are doing in anyway makes you feel odd or squiggly or unsure… why do it? Why stray from your moral center for a quilt?  Why compromise your integrity for $12 ? We have plenty of politicians that are here to do that for us.. so why not just live above and beyond reproach when it comes to your quilting. It is just that simple.

Don’t make a copy, don’t accept a copy unless you have full permissions from the person who owns the copyrights.

End result… a happy gut… and that makes for a happy quilter!
