Which quilt set you free??

Art has a way of setting you free. Quilting if viewed past its utilitarian origins is an art and has just as much chance to move, excite and inspire as any other art form. It can do this for the viewer as well as for the creator.

Epic wings ( made  almost 2 years ago) is that quilt for me. It has much to do about changes that were going on in my life at the time when it was made. Shifts of thought  and realization that were bringing me to a new place in my life.  And like anything that goes through metamorphosis I came out better, bolder, prouder and in my case even happier with both myself and my work. It does not mean my work is perfect but that is ok, I am cool with that.  Life is more than a bit messy and imperfect and that is part of its beauty.

Times like this are often life being stripped naked and rebuilt from the ground up and thus the title of today’s post – Quilt Naked

So I ask you… do you have an quilt that changed who you were as an artist?  An experience that laid you bare and you brought it to life or honored it in quilting. If so I would love to have you share it with me and in turn I will share it with the BAQS world.

Here is how it works-

Send me an email with your story ( short and sweet it ok and no more than 400 words if longer)

Include 3-5 photos of your quilt ( please watermark your photo if that is important to you)

Put QUILT NAKED in the subject line so I can find all the posts. maddie@badassquilterssociety.com

Wait with nail biting excitement to see when your post is featured.. then do a happy dance the day it goes live!
