Ever have those times when so much happens that the crazy in your life shoots off the charts… in fact it makes its own chart and you  vacillate between sitting and watching the crazy like a fireworks display and chasing it in the crazy way little kids chase fireflies in the night sky? – yeah that.

This level of crazy is good crazy and I am the firefly catcher  and have many pretty  things in my jar to show off to you. So settle in and catch up on all the news that is fit to print here at BadAss Quilters Society! … to do this we are going to have to travel back in time a wee-bit but we won’t go so far back that you need a supped up DeLorean for the journey, but come to think of it ..it would not hurt!

QUILT MARKET 2014

Cherie by Frances Newcomb

One of my sweet treats at Quilt Market was meeting Frances Newcombe and seeing her new collection Cherie!

Quilt market was in May ( yes, I am a MONTH behind) and this year is was in the surprisingly  lovely Pittsburg. Which while wet and cool most the time I was there was full of much to catch the eye!

Market was everything you expect from QM.. it was BIG, and bright and full of lots of old friends and many new friends not to mention amazing fabrics, products and projects anywhere your eye could choose to land.

This market was slated to be EXTRA EXTRA special since BAQS and Swatch Buddies have teamed up for our first branded promotion.. ( who say’s you can never be a virgin again!)  BAQS SWATCH BUDDIES!

Missy and David have been freakin fantastic to work with and  BadAss Quilter Swatch buddies were an amazing hit!   The Swatch Buddies team gave away SO many  BAQS starter packs as well as  selling the larger packs … their booth was one of the hottest spots at market!

If  you would like to get in on the fun this week you can find Swatch Buddies at booth #1820 at Market Festival in Chicago starting thursday June 19th.  They will have 100 BAQS starter kits  – all they have to do is let them know you are “BAD ASS”  to get in on this sweet freebie!

And of course with so many highs there is always the chance for some lows.. my low came with a VERY bad choice to eat some M&M’s and fritos instead of  a real meal, thoroughly F*cking with my blood sugar ( have I mentioned that I am diabetic?) and making me feel totally dreadful and there by throwing off my whole flipping  endocrine system and laying me low until the last few hours of market on  Sunday – to say this was a major bummer would be a light way of putting it.  But from it I did learn that I have some of the MOST AMAZING and TRUE friends ever!  Friends who put aside their important work and made time to make sure I was well and cared for when so far from home.  Market is a very intense time and I am forever grateful for the help I was given ( right here I need to put in my plug for the fact that as women we are CRAPTASTIC at asking for help when we really need it.. if you need help ask.. I did, it was REALLY hard but so totally worth it)

Moving right along……..

BadAss Quilters Exhibit at AQS Chattanooga

As many of you know last year I announced that I had done a deal with AQS so that all  BAQS members would have a shot at the first ever BAQS Quilt Exhibit during the  AQS show in Chattanooga. …   and then we waited, and stitched and waited some more.. then the day came for submissions to open .. and NOTHING.. nothing…  Well it seems that like with  many well laid plans timing is everything.  The launch of the BAQS exhibit has landed right on top of the launch of the new AQS website which is currently being tweaked  into submission but has really played havoc with the launch of our exhibit registration! ( SADNESS – in fact I just about imploded on-line.. did you see that??)
